|
|
I'm having a hard time coming up with a name for a "future" 21ec. I work at a marina/in the recreation field. my wife is a elementary school teacher. I see so many boat names at work that I'm having a hard time...we will be cruising lake Michigan and Lake Superior.
any ideas/direction??? thanks! |

Maybe I'm morbid, but I think of this question differently from most people, it seems. Most want something which will be fun, capture the character of the boat and the owners, and maybe will look cool with other graphics.
I look at some of the resulting names and can only think of the mayday call and how stupid and confusing it is going to sound on the radio.
I don't know anyone who has ever actually had to make that call. _________________ Gulf Island Sails |

Evilskier,
Since there's a Tug and a teacher involved, how about Private Tooter?

I really like Roger's suggestion, but to go with TomRay's theme, Quote: | I look at some of the resulting names and can only think of the mayday call and how stupid and confusing it is going to sound on the radio. |
How about naming it: My boat
That way when your screaming on the radio you can yell, "My boat is sinking!" (heaven forbid!!!!)
Of course, you might end up with one of those Abbott and Costello routines with the Coast Guard.
CG: What's the name of your boat?
ES: My boat
CG: Yes, your boat. What the name of it?
ES: My boat
CG: OK, buddy. What do others call your boat?
ES: My boat
CG: Yes, your boat....what do other people call it?
ES: My boat
You get my drift...no pun intended. _________________ -Sarge

I just want to add...
My above comments are coming from a guy whose boat is named "Pingu."
I don't need to call the Coast Guard to have people not understand the name. Heck at CBGTs I get teased. TomRay's advice is good.

Along the lines of the name My Boat is my all time favorite boat name Wife's Name seen on a Bayliner in the California Delta. |

If you move up to the 25 you could call it the "Loan Ranger". I kid. _________________ MartyP

I answered the coast guard one night, in regards to a phoney mayday call, and had the coast guard saying RUB "N" TUG over the radio on channel 16. He and I both were chuckling. Good times. |
