YES , remove one guide wire pull the pin and it lays over on a kick stand that flips up from the roof , be sure to put a bungee on it as it will bounce alot going down the road.
I always fear my radar will get messed up going down the road on such a angle but it seems to be fine every time, just watch out for low branches we caught some from time to time in the mast usually because I was not paying attention .
no problems with the set up so far, and it looks to be well built. |

No, it hinges forward. There is a supporting leg just in front of the windshield to hold it up. This is on the 21:

I think we have the older set up, ours angles to the side .
The mount in the picture may be a new design , it looks like it would go lower than our side set up .
I havent seen that mast mount untill now .
Which I think is an improvement , and may work best ,just my opinion based on the fact it would be nice if our mast could be lowered more.
The new spotlight mount looks nice too, see ranger is always improving th
ings just takes a little time....

I can't imagine why they would have hinged one to the side. |

Here's a better shot of the 21 mast folded forward:

Why not ask Andrew Custis, the Ranger factory public information/ service advisor?

Word from Ranger is that they are going to the forward-folding mast as standard on the 21 and 25, but a few more boats will be released with the old style side-folding mast. |

Yes, I like the forward folding version better. We just got a blue 21 at the dealership, and it has one of the remaining side-folding masts. I don't like the folding as well, and you do end up a bit taller. Also, the spotlight isn't part of the whole folding thing, as it is with the new mast.
On the plus side, I think the position of the mast, which is placed further aft on the side-folding version, looks better when it's up. |

Question--what does the mast rest on when it is forward? Is there chance of abraison of the gel coat of the eyebrow? _________________ Bob Austin
