Joel,

Let me know if you are planning on ordering any more Lazarette Covers.
I need a set. I have a 2006 CD22 and my leaking covers drive me crazy.
Let me know if you will be ordering more and I will send you a check for
the amount.

Thanks!
Mike

I've just revisited this thread that I've been watching since last year, 9 pages! So Saturday at the Boat Show, the new Sea Sport built 22 shows up with even smaller hatches! I think they were still the ones rated for vertical use. I guess we need to be able to put a big Asterik on threads that the builders should look at. *** The CD22 needs these hatches, large enough and rated for horizontal installation.

No ...Those are the hatches...just the smaller size...I just can't imagine why the factory would do that....I would like larger if possible...but the ones I have are the largest size available to fit....

I will be stocking the hatches in April...(when I return up North) Same deal as before...at cost...no profit..just actural shipping ...I buy them in cases of 10 and divide the costs (5 sets per case) Wholesale....

In April I will post as soon as I get to the cabin...and start a list then...

Thanks

Joel

I'd like to second that The CD22 needs these hatches, large enough and rated for horizontal installation

And all the people said .....AMEN Guess I shouldn't be so loud, the nerds won't let me shout BIG and loud twice in the same post.

(No apologies for being boisterous here.) Twisted Evil

The company did switch over to the proper hatches...just the smaller size... I have no idea why...I doubt there is much if any difference in price...
I will continue to supply the proper hatches to anyone who wants them....(IN APRIL)

I could have sworn that the ones I saw on the SS built 22 there were the old style hatches, and small, and mounted cross-ways (hinged aft, with the lid opening from the forward edge.) Roger, is your photo of the hatch on the '10 SBS show boat or is that a photo of what should be there? (Photo sure looks like what I got from Joel and installed to get rid of the leaky drain running down into the hatch every time I opened the cover.

What years do these hatches fit? Guess I should go back through all nine pages and look for the answer, just lazy.

Please put me down for 2 covers also. Mine are the old fiberglass grey ones that came on an 88. Thanks, Ron

I don't think the new hatches will fit a 1988 model....Those hatch covers were made by C-Dory out of fiberglass ....I always thought those worked well....

These are something like 13" by 15.5" (same size as the ones we are replacing) only these covers are designed not to leak...

I will be starting a list the first week in April and should be starting shipping a week later... I will continue the project all summer...(I travel during the winter) there will be plenty of time for everyone.

No list started yet..

Wondering on those covers -- is it a flange that mounts and a cover? If so, is there any reason why I couldn't cut out the opening larger, and mount the flange and cover. Thanks, Ron

Yes the actual "hole" needs to be 12.750" by 10" minimum.... ours were actually cut a bit larger...the "flange" is fairly wide so they fit easily...on my boat I made some shims...they were really not needed...

Joel, I'll cut the hole out as long as there is a flange that bolts down for the cover to go over. Thus, I need a pair. Thanks, Ron

I see Joel is placing another order for the improved laz covers, I would really like to place an order but first could someone who has them please let me know the outside dimensions of the lid and inside access dimensions when open.

I may have installation problems do to pot puller mount and battery access.

I canceled my original order last year but have since grown weary of the leaking hatches.

Thanks,

Jay
