So I decided to buy a motor for the Dinghy, but where to put it? After lengthy consideration I decided to mount it in the cockpit. The Honda 2hp is small and weighs only 28lbs, so thought it would be possible to squeeze it in the corner by the port laz, and still have enough room for the cooler and cleaning table.
The bracket is actually a stainless steal moving handle that was used for a 400lb clinical chemistry analyzer, new I’d have a use for it someday; all I had to do is cut off some pipe and drill a few holes.

Mounting holes drilled into Port laz.

Some 520 and positioning of top spacer

Bracket in place

Picture from inside laz, had to split the top washer because I misjudged to thickness of the top.

Motor in place

Motor in place with clearance for cooler/cleaning table. Tight fit but isn’t everything on a CD

Another way. This mount is made of 1/2" marine ply and slides in between the forward transom and 1" tubing bar. Detailed on EZ DUZIT's album.

Nice

I mounted my bracket on the rails and it has worked well. Very secure even in chop. I also lock mine when away from the dock.
