Hello, Dan here. I am the proud owner of a new Green 22. If your going to the Seattle show this weekend, pat her on the side for me. I picked her up a week ago with the agreement that they could have her back for the show. Difficult decision but will be on someone elses boat at buoy 10 all weekend.

Had her out with the family on Saturday and Sunday and I could not be happier - she is everything I hoped she would be.

I'm so happy to have finally been able to make the purchase.

Thanks for this site - I've gleened a ton of information over the last few months as a lurker.

We look forward to meeting some of you on the water!

CoolSmile Dan

Hi Dan! Congratulations!

And it's good to see you on the board, here. Especially since you have a green boat and like to float on the Lower CR. Where's your home port?

There is a growing contingent of C-Brats at the end of the Mighty Columbia. Do you think we can count you in for the big CB CD Sturgeon Fest down here next June?

So tell us about your new boat (since I won't be making the boat show). Power? Options? Electronics? Fishing gear? Need a photo album set up?

Good to hear from you.

Welcome aboard Dan.

Mike likes green, so bear with him.

Hope to see you up in the San Juans in the next year.

Hi, Thanks for the welcome.

Home port is Port Orchard, WA. The boat will rest on a trailer till my name comes up in the Port Orchard marina - estimating 1 yr. I'm less than 10 minutes from the Manchester dock / 15 minutes from downtown Port Orchard.

She is green - Burgundy would have been my first choice but I do like the green. I have already mounted a Garmin 188C and a Oceanus DSC VHF. Money is flowing out of my pocket far to fast - starting to get a little frightened. Boaters world already knows me by name and they are starting to greet me in the parking lot.

If Brock is online - I'm the guy you met in the parking lot at the factory. I appreciate your conversation and knowledge of the boat.

I'd love to fish the Columbia in her but trailering is not a joy - hoping to spend considerable time in the San Juans but may be biting off more than I realize for a weekend... We'll see.

Thanks again,

Dan

Welcome also from the Daydream crew! Money flowing out of pocket? Welcome to the world of the BOAT unit! BOAT, if you have not heard, stands for "Bring On Another Thousand" - you will start thinking in BOAT units...Camperback? A BOAT unit...Windlass...another BOAT unit. Some things are only half a BOAT unit, or even a quarter, but they are few and far between. Some things - like a Wallas - are a BOAT unit and a half...comes with the territory!

A weekend in the San Juans is NOT biting off more than you can chew! Ask people here about favorite places, the neat thing is with a C-Dory you can pretty much go any time the wind and waves aren't too ferocious - we had two lovely weekends in February this year (see First Birthday Crusises nested album in the Daydream album).

You are not signed up for Langley - you ought to come out, it would be a great introduction to the kinds of things we do around here on a more or less regular basis, stay the weekend or come for the day!

Thanks!

I like your philosophy , but it takes me a long time to earn a "boat unit!"

Our crew of three includes a 21 month old girl - any little ones along on your normal get togethers? I would hate to be rafted up along side a light sleeper...

Thanks,

Dan

Hi, Dan! Hey, I am online, and I was wondering which way you would go. Scott asked me about you after you left, and I told him he would likely see you again. Looks like he did.

Glad to see you opted for the C-Dory instead of the Trophy. With your purchase you also receive a bonus gift: A whole bunch of C-Freaks. You can opt for a lot or a little of us, and you'll find we're a fun, educational, and largely noninvasive species. So, uh, when will we see you?

Hi Brock, thanks for the welcome - Yes Scott probably knew he had me from the first time I stepped into the boat.

I've been looking at these boats for years but had never been in one. I made a visit to the factory and then several more visits - spent plenty of time stomping around the thing sitting in every position, lying down in the cuddy, imagining myself cranking up down riggers - in my mind I had several hundred hours on the boat but made the purchase without ever putting her in the water.

Having spent Saturday on her with my wife and daughter, I have no regrets. As a true test though, my sister-in-law joined us on Sunday - still no regrets; plenty of room. If you knew my sister-in-law - you'd understand just how big a test that was! Still came away with a smile.

Anyway - thanks again and I look forward to joining in the fun and games, but a crying baby can be a bit overwhelming sometimes...

Cheers,

Dan

Dan
Welcome to the C-Pod. As you will soon find out, for the most part, the C-Brats are a family oriented group. There seems to always be a few kids along. If Brock's snoring doesn't bother anyone, (just kidding Catman) Smile that little baby isn't going to either. You might have a problem keeping him/her out of the hands of all the mothers and grandmothers. Wink

Hi Roger
This is a little off topic, but I'm also a big fan of the Nordic Tug. When we were up at Blakely, ( wish you could have made it ), after the weekend. We spent Sunday night at Sucia then stayed Monday night back at Blakely. Late in the afternoon in comes a beautiful 26' Nordic Tug. It was a '96 model, actually it was the last 26 footer Nordic Tug built. It looked like it was right out of the factory. Wish they still made them.
(My wife even likes them, there is hope)

Rock-C,
We must have just missed you. We spent last Sunday night at Lopez Islander Marina, departed at about 1100 HRS, stopped briefly at Blakely Marina to say Hi to Norma and Rick, then cruised on to Sucia (Fossil Bay) where we spent Monday night.

Hi Dave S.
I should have been a little more clear on the dates. The weekend was in July, and there were about 20 other C-Dorys running around. I wish you would have been able to make the gathering. If I lived closer to the islands, you would see me out there all the time.
We did enjoy the stay at Blakey marina, they were very accommodating. We will surly go back again
