if its a 99 engine that is only 63 ours a year. My 05 has 820 hours on it , thats 273 hours a year. So you see 700 is nothing for a honda. some boats on this site have more then a 1000 hours. What you have to look at is the motor been taken care of or beat to death? has the oil been changed on time. I would do a full service on it as soon as you get it. maybe run it by a shop before you buy to get teh compression checked. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Take it to EQ marine in Oak Harbor to have it checked out. I bought a 22 with a 70 hp Honda that had 700 hours on it. Took it to Les at EQ and he said not to worry about the hours on that Honda. Just do what Les (and Tom, above) says and it should last for a long, long time. Congratulations. _________________ MartyP

I agree with the above. Depends a lot, too, on how it was maintained. Hopefully the previous owner has a maintenance record of oil changes/problems, if any, etc.
