How come Ranger Tug people don't have photo albums. Sad I would sure like to see what you have done to the inside and outside of your boats. One of the big pluses of this site is to share ideas. The C-Dorys are well documented. but info on the Ranger is in short supply. How many different colors are out there? Mine was blue, next will be green. I have seen reds and purple. I guess it would be called purple. On the R-25 Island Ranger is about the only one I have seen. I am going to go looking for more right now. Smile

Mine is red. I think Miss Dee was original boat I got to see before you aquired it. I did want blue, wanted green, but the first mate picked red. My memory is that there were 2 separate versions of red. A very early online magazine photo showed one in white. However, I am not sure if that was a real photo or computor image. My understanding is that during first year of production color was an option. Starting in 2007 color was a standard item.

Captd,

You can find Ranger photo albums un "Our Ranger Albums" halfway down the page after you click Photos on the top line.

Rolling Eyes Peter, I guess it isn't what you know , it is what you remember. I have looked at the Island Ranger's album many times. But through his posts.

I have never posted pictures of the Mrs Dee's on that Ranger site. All my photos are in the "Hunky Dory" album. I have been looking for "photos" next to their name in any post.
All that being said, there is not a lot of pictures to look at of the R-25. I steal ideas from anyone. I did stumble in to the factory site with new pictures, but those are quite generic.

Question for the Laurie Ann: Do I see a battery bank on your port side picture along side of your box? Did you do that?
Also , do you have any pictures of the Motor mount on your dive platform? What size motor do you put on it?

Must be a lot of Ranger owners out there who are not members of C-Brats.

captd,

We have 42 Ranger 25's listed in 'Our C-Dorys' (top menu).

If you click 'Our C-Dory's', then sort the list by 'model' and 'descending' you can see the Rangers 25's listed.

There is an 08 that is number 89 the in production run, so I would guess that there are about 100 or so 25's built so far.

Blue seems to be the dominant hull color.

Nice boats, those Rangers.

Thanks Larry, been a C-Brat for years and still don't know my way around. Checked profile on all. Not to many pictures.

The twelve albums are mostly 21 ft tug, are they not? I was really looking for a pic of the Maroon one. Found the owner but no pictures.

Sorry for the late reply to your question: we been boating! On the port side storage space, where the battery charger is mounted and there is a wiring buss, I built a liner made of 3/8 starboard to protect all that electrical stuff from the other stuff. I put in that storage area oil, coolant, transmission oil, pads, propane bottles for the BBQ, the shorepower cord, and a outboard motor mount that can bolt to the swim step. There is still room to spare. I should take a photo of it but it is simply starboard base, upright mount and supporting brackets. My 6 HP 4 stroke fits it nicely and it has the juice to move the Laurie Ann in a pinch to keep it off the rocks!

Bruce,
Good to see the pictures. Makes me anxious to get my new "Lucky Fin", Guess some time in Sept. Make sure you post all your improvements and additions to the Moondance. When not cruising, it is my favorite pastime looking at other Tug owners boats. I am not to proud to steal ideas from anyone.
In the future I hope some Tug owners can get together and go up the inside passage to Alaska. My other half would be a lot happier with company, so would I. Bahamas is in the works for this winter. Other C-Brats and Tug owners joining in on the plan would be appreciated.

Thanks captd - I hope we come up with some mods worth sharing. This is our first boat, so our experience is limited to these worthwhile pages and about 18 weeks of USPS classes. But we sure are putting our hearts and souls (and $) into it.

Cheers,

Bruce
