Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you aren't missing anything at the coast, yet.

Sorry to hear that. On the bright side, if there was a year not to fish it might be this one. Take care and good luck with your surgery.

Go fishing anyway. Just leave the rod in the holder! I've been known to do that myself on occasion due to the bursitis in my shoulders.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder! Nothing worse than a sore shoulder!

Caty...really sorry to hear NMFF for the year. I agree...you should still go and just watch the pole sitting in the holder. You could always drag the fish with the boat and bring it on board once you have drowned it.

Hope you both are having fun and we hope to see you at Bellingham!!!

John

Red Fox was posting something about electric reels.... Maybe?

So sorry to hear that one, Caty. Big bummer.

If my understanding of law is correct, at least Alaska law, the person who first holds the rod after a fish is hooked own the fish. In that case pick it up with the right hand and hand it to someone.

I thought I was going the same route but some physical therapy and strength exercises have postponed it. Halibut fishing doesn't seem to hurt it, but skiing was hard on it but that come back for a few months.

Caty,

Yes, it sucks when you can't do something you really enjoy. It just shouldn't happen to a nice person like you. We send our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. If you can't be fishing, sure hope you can still be out enjoying the boat... time on the water is good for the soul.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Caty-

Sorry to hear about your torn rotator cuff, pain, and surgery!

Isn't that usually a Major League Baseball Pitcher's injury?

You been serving up those jelly beans to Steve on the fast pitch overhand lately?

Get steve to make you a reel out of a stationary bicycle and you can crank 'em in in the "Look ma, no hands! style.

"Enjoy" the pain relief, and good luck with the surgery!

If you run out of "goofy" pills, I can fix ya' up in a hurry!

Joe. Teeth Thumbs Up

Wow, one more MRI and a neurologist test later, they've found the pain is actually coming from a nerve in the base of my neck (spine) where a growth is, as he put it "smushing" it. They are scheduling for a biopsy, CT scan and bone study at OHSU -- I'm to frickin onery to have cancer -- they've looked before and can't find any, so I'm pulling for more of the same! Wink

I'll post as I know more.

Caty

PS Poor Steve is now having to make sandwiches for me too -- poor guy!
