Dunn: Could you work just a little harder on the oars? I had to go to the second photo of your rowing efforts to detect any evidence of water disturbance which even slightly resembled a wake. When we're up your way this summer, I promise to sit aft with a drum, yell out a count, and see if you can't get that baby up on plane!

George wouldn't let us off the boat until we finished BOTH large bottles of wine, so it's lucky we made it back to shore at all. I kept going in circles because I forgot I was rowing backwards! And when you come to Maine this summer, I expect you to bring me a nice new outboard for my dinghy from WM so I won't have to row at all.

Let's see if I've got this straight. Your defense to improper use of oars is that you were forced to commit RUI: rowing under the influence. And you want me to bring along something with a sharp, rotating object on one end? Don't think so.

Nice to hear from you.

We have noted the Yellowstone Gathering with a mix of longing and regret. We would love to see you and the others who plan to attend but so far cannot overcome the dread of such a long tow. There is a lot of water much closer to us.

We are giving some thought to hauling Wanderer to Virginia Beach where our son lives and exploring the nearby sounds. Possible but less likely would be the Trent-Severn and the North Channel of Lake Huron.
