The ice came off the lake May 16th this year. Shan and I went out fishing for the day (not on a C-Dory though - Hewescraft 22). Saw a couple of avalanches while we were on the water - heard the thunder and looked up and watched a waterfall of snow and ice come tumbling down. The lake trout were in shallow water - 30 to 40 feet. Caught 3 trout and 2 whitefish. The whitefish on a fly. No scent allowed in the park but you can use barbed hooks, even then lost two on the way up to the boat. Our biggest fish around 3 pounds, but had teeth marks on it, almost lost it to a bigger fish on the way in.
