Hi, Lyle. Sorry to see the cute little bugger go. Is your new 16' Cruiser enough to meet your fishing needs?

Hi Brock,
Yes it was a very hard decesion. The 16 will be the one to keep at this time because I have two grandsons who love to go fish with Grandpa. The 14 is just a little too close to be out with both of them and the way they move around. It is just perfect for two people to fish from. Also two insurance bills, two trailer tabs, two boat tabs, and upkeep on all are cutting into my fun money. Then on the posative side we will maybe get another new C-Brat to join in all our fun and games.
Looks like you all had a good time at the island last weekend.I am sorry I could not make it but had meetings to go to. I am sure enjoying the photo album. Hope to see you again soon.
Lyle

I understand your motivation, Lyle. It's the KISS theory: Keep it simple, Stuart. As a sixteen guy, I understand.

We missed you at Blakely, but I know we'll see you 'round the bend now and again.

Lyle,

I think you should have them come to pick up the boat in Washington, and they will declare it when they cross back into Canada, and pay their duty and their tax.

Your Canadian buyer can call Canada customs to find out what they must do to import and register the boat.

I thought about selling my C-Dory after a cruise while I was in Canada. I found out that as a tourist I had to take my boat back with me and I was not allowed to sell it in Canada.

Hope this helps,

Lyle,
There is no problem what so ever selling to a person in Canada. All they have to do is show up at the border with a bill of sale and pay the #*# taxes of 14.5%. The trailer will need a letter from the manufacturer stating that there has been no recalls on it. If it is an EZ loader they know exactly what to give you. The purchaser will have to have the trailer inspected by a approved inspection facility and pay the inspection fee of approx $180 Canadian and thats it. I bought my boat in Lacconer in May and it was no problem at all to bring it back to BC. Other than the lousy exchange rate and even lousier tax rate.
