Stone guards - winter is coming

I'm looking for suggestions as we trailer our boat everywhere. We don't moore the boat. In the winters here in Oregon we don't put sand down Cry

- we put pea gravel down. Disgust

It finds it's way into every tread on the tire and I am assuming if I don't find a way to protect the boat I'll end up with pits all over the frontside. I Thumbs Down

have looked into stone guards that attach to the stinger. Any other suggestions? Pricing is about $250 for those through jc. I'm open to those or something similar.

I am assuming you tow with a pick-up? What I would do it get a strip of that heavy belting material that truckers use for tire flaps and pop rivet it to your rear bumper.... it probably would not look bad and it sure would reduce the junk that flew up towrd your hull.

I have seen it for motorhomes and I am sure you can buy it at trailer supply places too..

The name of the flap is TowTector. Has anyone had experience using this brand or something similar? Is it better to cover the front of the boat or put a flap on the truck. The other thing I am thinking of is that I can put a flap on the back of the truck, but what about the other vehicles? I am thinking it might be better to fabricate something out of vinyl or the likes?? Thoughts, pics? http://www.towtector.com/

I found a set up flaps that uses the stinger/hitch ball receiver. This is great as your able to remove them when not towing and don't have to perminately mount them on your tow rig. The great thing about this product is that it can be adjusted to fit a dually all the way down to a Ranger size. Cabela's has the best price around. So far I've been happy with them, it appears to keep the spray and more importantly debris down from my tow vehicle. Thumbs Up

I do like that shroud for Jay and Jolene's CD. If you are still looking for another type of protection, try Campers World, and tell them you are looking for a "Hula Skirt" for your pickup.
