What is the fuel capacity on a 2001 CD-22? Also, are the tanks translucent, so you can see the level? Thanks!! |

Approximately 48 gallons total and yes, you can see the level of the fuel. _________________ Roger

40 gallons-you can squeeze a couple more gallons in each side but not much more than that. The tanks are translucent and the fuel level is easily seen with the twin 20 gallon tanks being marked in 5 gal increments.
Don't know why the difference between Fishtales and us.

Thanks, Roger and Jay. Maybe there are some differences? I am looking at a 2001 model, so maybe I will have to do some measurements, then convert to cubic inches, and then divide by the appropriate number, which I think is 231 cubic inches to the gallon.

couldn't you just fill one that's empty and watch the pump? C.W. _________________ "The West is the Best... Just get here and we'll do the rest." Jim Morrison |

Harry,
I have a 2002 and it also has two 20 gal tanks. Unless yours was retrofitted with the new tanks (25 gal) I would think it would be two 20 gal tanks. The shape is so unusual that I don't think you could measure it and compute the volume. _________________ Ken Trease

Sorry--- I had the 2002 model "new" tanks in Fishtales. Supposed to be 25 gallons each- actually 24+ gallons each.

Didn't I read here that the 25 gallon tanks allow enough room for a Tempo 12 gallon to fit between them ? 25+25+12= 62 gallons(61 on Roger's Boat)??? _________________ Pete

I used to carry two 5 gallon cans of fuel between the tanks, so--- yea, you could put one 12 gallon tank there.

I have two 25's and have a tempo 12 gallon tank for long trips. I can't remember if it fits between the two 25's but I usually just plug the 12 gallon one in and burn that off first and get it out of the way. If someone really wanted to know if it would fit I could go check. |

I have a 2001 and somewhere along the way I think I came up with the idea each tank could actually accomodate 23 gallons. I think I purposely ran one dry once and then filled it up at a gas station. Also, I have three red plastic Briggs & Stratton six gallon cans and they squeeze beautifully between the built-in tanks.

Our 2001 easily holds 20 gallons per tank, There is some space left
at the top, but it is difficult to use without overflow from the vent. I
usually just fill to about 3" from the top.
There is space between the tanks, but our batteries are mounted there.
