Hello C-Brats,

Thought you might like to know that I've taken the plunge and brought the 2007 22 Center Console that Boatline in Charleston have been advertising for a while. I believe it may be hull #1 of this line. My family and I were attracted by its ruggedness, salty lines and general C-Doryiness manifest in the posts of you'all. Now I know most of you hardbitten N'Westerners think the 22 Center Console is an aberration - one described it as the effect of passing under a low bridge at speed- but you should know that it fits the bill for my family with a spouse (on board) and 3 teenage sons perfectly.
For example:-
1) Its 7 inch draft is perfect for the shallow waters around Charleston harbour, but we would like to take it offshore occasionally. The locals have been quite disparaging about it's flat bottom and rough weather, but we shall see.
2) It has the versatility for general exploring, fishing and easy trailering needed here.
3) It will certainly be used for towing a tube and perhaps wakeboading. It seems to get up on a plane very quickly.
4) Its panga lines should make it very economical ( hopefully).

I hope this versatility means they sell thousands of them in the South. You should know that Clemmie, Bob and Charles at Boatline have made the purchasing process an absolute delight.

Here's the kicker, which will label us forever. .. we are able to tow it with a Honda Odyssey Minivan, and despite all expectations can put it in and out of the water with ease. You don't see that very often around here.

We took it out this weekend - still unnamed- for a short cruise along the Wando river, then to Shem Creek to Vickery's for dinner, and then back by moonless night to base. We have a Side Imaging Humminbird 797 Combo GPS and sonar. Worked like a charm and gave us the perfect outline of a sunken boat in one of the creeks - just like locating the Titanic.

Best wishes to you all - we will look forward to your thoughts and comments, and as this is our first boat we will definitely need your help.

Iain, Angela, James, Daniel and Harry.

Congratulations on your purchase. Don't know if your vessel is equipted with trim tabs but they make a world of difference in the ride in rough water and leveling the boat side to side. I too have the Humminbird 797 combo and the side scan is really neat to play with. Enjoy marvin

To sande010

Welcome aboard! We pull our CD-19 ( Main & kicker both Honda) with a Honda Pilot. The folks with the big P/Us and SUVs look down at us kind of weird on the boat ramps but that AWD handles slick or steep ramps just fine. We just smile at them. And staying with traffic flow on mtn roads is no problem either. You've got a good thing going there. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard Iain, Angela, James, Daniel and Harry,

I was wondering when someone would post about owning one of the center consoles. We live in deep south Texas - plenty of shallows and warmer water (still about 70º bay water temp)... our cabin boat is a rarity around here. The great majority of boats here look more like yours. It will be interesting to hear about how you use your boat and how it fits your your needs.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Congrats on your new boat.
I will also vouch for the trim tabs, a must on these boats.
Not sure how you will make out wakeboarding, its hard to get a good wake out of these flat bottom boats
