Happy Thanksgiving, Brats! It has been an amazing year for us - the opportunity to attend 4 C-Brat gatherings (Lake Powell, Delta/Bay, Bellingham, Gulf Islands), renew some previous friendships and meet lots of new friends. Getting to spend so much time onboard, visiting some spectacular places, and the opportunity to share the good times has been a real treat.

Our thanks to all the great people who make this place so special.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan B.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I'm thankful for many things but here I'll simply re-express my thanks to Mike and Bill for providing a "home" on the web for all of us.

My wife is already down at the University of Washington to supervise the preparation breakfast and Thanksgiving lunch for all the UW football players (she manages the food service for all the UW athletes). My son will join her late this AM to help with lunch and clean up. I get the home duty of preparing dinner for the family. I'll also be out splitting the last of the wood from a tree I had taken down a couple of weeks ago. I'm down to the last 9' or so of a 85" tree. Hand split nearly a full cord of lumber this past couple of weeks in about 6 or 7 1.5-3hour sessions (including moving and stacking the wood). I guess I'll also be thankful when I get that job finished today.

Happy Thanksgiving

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a
bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.

Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with
profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by
consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything
else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot
yelled back.

John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. In
desperation, John threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and put him in
the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and
screamed.

Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a
minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the
door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said ,
"I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.
I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I
fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable
behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about
to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his
behavior, when the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

On the plate today: Smoked Meatloaf (I'm sure the Pilgrims had it)

Make up your meatloaf and include onions and bell peppers in foil pan
punch a few holes in the foil pan and cover with tin foil (punch small hole in it)
fire up a charcoal grill and pull coals to the sides add mesquite wood chips
put meatloaf pan in center (so no coals directly under it)
put cover on grill and leave it alone
smoke for 3 hours and pull foil cover off top of meatloaf for last 15 mins.

It's been a hit on hollidays for at least 20 years now.

Happy Thanksgiving from Joe and Cathy in Northern California!

Have a great day and one of my reasons or giving thanks is having all my C-Brat friends right here.

I always think of this as the one day a year when we get to win over the turkeys out there.
Have a good one and be safe,

Right back atchya!

Donna and I have been working feverishly rennovating our new home to get ready for today. My daughter and son in law are coming this evening...bringing the grandson for his first visit here. Should be a fun filled 4 days.

We're very thankful for everything we have. Life has been pretty good.

Be safe!

It's a beautiful morning in Bellingham. The sky is clear. The bay is flat with one tug & barge at anchor. Sunlight is hitting the tops of the trees. Our family will be with us this afternoon. Life is good and we are most grateful.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all the C-Brats.
