You can find out anything on this site, anything. Where can I get a good corned beef sandwich in Seattle?

Since the general subject of "best" foods has been raised, here's a thread where we can trade tips on where to find our favorite foods in the PNW.

My first question is, where can I find good bagels, preferably in Bellingham but Seattle or Everett being OK?

I know it's s chain but I'm partial to Noah's bagels - there's one in Kirkland and one in the U Village near UW. There's probably others. Go to noahs.com to locate one near you. There also used to be a good place on Stewart or the next EW road to the south, about 3-blocks west of I5 - can't remember the name but used to buy from them when I had an office in the area.

Well, Marty, you can get a great sandwich at the Snoqualmie Taproom called "Da Prez" (now who would that be?) that is corned beef piled high on dark rye with Swiss cheese, red onions and Russian dressing, just had one for lunch today - your choice of sides, coleslaw, baked beans or chips. Or you can get a damn fine Reuben at the Taproom too. You are really close, you are just looking at the wrong compass points...

Hey Pat,

I forgot to mention that Caryn and I stopped by the Pub last month after a hike down and up the Falls. Great Food and Great Beer!

Warren, Pike Place Bagels makes pretty good bagels. It's on 1st & Pine right near the Market.

Note to all: In case anyone noticed, Seattle is big on "THE" locations, i.e. The Market, The Falls, The U, The Safe etc Thumbs Up

I visited their website and it seemed quite similar to a chain called Einstein's that is big in Utah. Then I discovered that the location search pages for Einsteins and Noahs are identical!

In Bellingham, try The Bagelry. It's downtown on Railroad, and been around a long time.

My daughter-in-law has one of those Entertainment books. Well, since it's expiring on Nov. 1. she said Dotty and I could take what we want. With coupons in hand we have been following Suzy, our Garmin street pilot, all over. The three best casual spots were,
1/ Sparta in Kenmore= Italian food-If there's a heaven, this is what they serve in the mess hall.
2/ Andy's Diner-in Seattle on 4th. A great oldtime Seattle experience. I think they serve Snoqualmie Falls beer on tap.
3/ The barbecue place next to Armandos in Renton=brisket, brisket, brisket, sauce.
Very Happy

With this thread, I think we can get T-shirts that paraphrase an old motorcycling saying...

"Cruise to eat, eat to cruise"

Cool

Blazing Bagels in Redmond
So, A space ship lands in Brooklyn, right in front of a bagel bakery. They alien gets out and looks in the window at the curious round things. He goes in, asks the clerk what they are. The clerk hands him one and says 'enjoy'. The alien takes a bite, smacks his lips and says "Wow, that would go great with cream cheese". Laughing

Surprised no one has mentioned Dixies' Bar B Q near bellevue, and my personal favorite, Kidd Valley. I used to love the clam dip that Larrys' Market made but a guy I ran into up in the Eagle Cap Wilderness last sunday told me Larrys had sold and closed. Any truth to that rumor?

Well it's raining cats and dogs so Dotty and I skipped the hike at Snoquamie Falls and went right to the Tap Room. The whole experience was, in a word, beautiful. I had the Prez, which I will describe. Dotty had some turkey, cranberry, and creamcheese thing which was beautiful too and which she loved. I had the Prez. First let me say this was not your traditional Jewish corned beef sandwich, so, if that's what you must have, go East young man. But please read on. The first thing that struck me when it was set in front of me was that it is beautiful. Frankly, I had never seen a beautiful sandwich before, usually I consume it and then look at the plate. When I did finally take a bite, a big one, the tastes were a symphony of just right flavors. I'm not kidding here. This huge sandwich is built ,or should I say created, with great dark rye, bib lettuce, swiss cheese ( at first I thought "who puts swiss cheese on a corned beef?") crisp red onions and perfect cut-across-the-grain corned beef-lots of corned beef. All this with just the right amount of Russian sauce-served with a crisp dill that would make any waiter at Katz's deli proud. I had the cole slaw as a side-a large tasty side.
I had tap root beer, refill is free. Again Excellent . I didn't have a beer cause I need my wits about me going down the hill to Fall City.
To top it off, the 'room' is extremely comfortable with wonderful old brewry posters and Snoqualmie Falls artifacts. There was even an old Ballantine Ale poster to make me homesick for Newark, NJ. I could almost hear Mel Allen broadcastng a Yankee game and shilling for Ballantine. Finally, the service. Dotty says I can't say that the waitress is beautiful too. She said I have to say service is friendly. But, just between you and me, if I was 40, (ok 50) years younger, had all my hair and a '55 Chevy BelAir... I bought a tee shirt to wear at the factory get together. Star Star Star Star Star

Marty - thanks for the kind words! David and I are very proud of the Taproom, the food, the beer and especially the staff. Every sandwich is a "creation," Da Prez is mine (the Wildcat IPA is mine too!). I had the turkey - cranberry sauce - cream cheese on walnut bread special yesterday, and gave it a big thumbs up. I would love to hook up with any Brats headed out to Snoqualmie - PM me and I will give you my cell, I am usually somewhere not too far away!

Dot and Marty,

What Pat said!

My favorite is the Not so "Meek" Muffuletta: Capicola (spicy ham), smoked turkey, pepperoni, tapenade, provolone, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, red onion, and balsamic viagrette, on a Panino Roll. Served warm. YUM

I am so glad you enjoyed your visit. All the lady wait-staff are beautiful, so I have no idea which one enjoyed your company.

The menu is on our website Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Co.
