I am planning on trailering my TomCat to KY lake area for a boating / fishing trip in late October and would like a recommendation for a resort that has a marina and nice accommodations (condo or rooms). I have seen the GTB website and that looks fine but are there any other recommendations? The Barkley lake side would be more convenient for the buddy meeting me.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Michael.
Yes... for a much more laid back atmosphere and a lot less "clutter" try our very peaceful but beautiful facilities at Lake Barkley State Park & Marina. Nice facilities, 3 great meals a day with buffet and/or menue. Golf course, airport, and more. Nashville International airport is about 1.5 hour drive from these facilities if not flying in on the limited (bit spendy) direct flights into the on site airport on a private charter. Great ramps, new marina facilities, great lodges over looking the waters.
I have a slip here and myself, Jeff Brigner (C-Pearl) and Mike & Brenda (GYPSY) and I just had a mini-gathering a couple weeks ago.
Let me know your exact arrival date and length of stay and I can come up and help you get in and set up.
On your reservations....the lodge and the marina work as seperate facilities. The marina is actually a civilan contract for the KY State Park System. 24 hour park security...and they do ride around all night. Very nice place.
On edit: Opps... If you enjoy alcohol of any type, bring your own. About a 30 minute drive each way if ya want to wet your whistle... None available on site due to being an alcohol free State Park Facility. Once on dock, in your boat, or in your rooms, plastic cups and manners work fine.

The Byrdman is on target as usual. Lake Barkley State Park & Marina is one of the finest parks of it's kind in the nation. I spent my eary days as a photographer for the Ky. Dept. of Public Information and had the sad duty every fall and spring to travel to Lake Barkley and spend the weekend in the lodge. My duties consisted of taking pictures of the fishermen as they brought their catch to the dock for weigh in. Yep it was a tough job, but someone had to do it.
