Well, This has been a little in the making, but I was so proud of this that I thought I would make a post. I started with not liking the openess of the transom in regards to following seas so added a piece of sea board across the transom to fix that with the intention of it some day being a nice cleaning table, cooler holder as well - and since I got er all done and she is shiny and new, minus the hopeful fish guts, scales and slime I thougth I would give you a link to see some photos of my fun little project - although it is not that little at 52 inches wide and about 16" deep.
To see the photos go to: http://www.sundogmedia.com/proof/cuttingtable/

Looks great and functional too. What did you make the "shelf/table" from? Butch _________________ As Bartles and James said, "Thank you for your fine support!" |

Sundog,
That's a great looking project. See if you can post it in the tech library for those folks that still don't know about C-Dories and haven't even bought one. This kind of stuff needs to be saved. Again, great job.

Sundog, great job, wonderful workmanship! Do you forsee any problems with engine access while underway? I've got twin Honda 45's that need a little TLC once in awhile, like punching out of the water telltales or stuff like that...

Hi Charlie,
No problem anticipated, I am able to reach over the table and access the motors or around the sides. I will actually sit on the cutting board when running my trolling motor. I just love having a place to lay stuff out, whether I am cutting fish, preparing a meal, or just general maintenance or putting together fishing gear. It is like adding a work bench to a garage that did not have one before. I will be giving it the big test this weekend out of Homer for a week of chasing halibut, kings and general exploring. My wife says it will work great for making sasandwichs
Cheers,
