I am considering putting down some carpet in the cockpit of the boat under the camper canvas. Has anyone put snaps in? Or would the general consensous be to just lay it down and deal with a little movement from time to time? Anyone have a good link to a carpet indoor/outdoor fabricator? |

If you buy the marine carpet it has a rubber backing so it will not slip. The carpet is made out of polypropylene so it doesn't absorb water and drys fast. You can buy it from Keyston or order it from boaters world, Is isn't cheap though. 25 to 35 a yard _________________ Jody Kidd

We have had indoor/outdoor carpet on the floor of the cabin and the cockpit for seven years. Works great -- just shake out the dirt and slosh a hose thru it periodically. Looks good, nice to keep bare feet a little warmer, and makes the interior look 'finished.' Oh, and no snaps required -- but cut it to fit tightly and it stays put.
Your suggestion sounds great, Jody. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)
