Howdy all, this is my first post and I've gotten serious about a 22 cruiser. My Boston Whaler 170 Montauk is for sale and I need to know what a new 22 cruiser really costs. What should I pay OTD for a cruiser with twin 50's? I've seen boats unrigged in the mid 30's on a trailer and then was quoted 60k which seem way high. What should it really cost. |

The State of Florida gives list price and then 38% discount prices on 2007 Honda 50's: $7,463.00 discount 38.18% Their net price: $4,613.63 . I think you would be beating up a dealer pretty bad to get that 38% discount! Then the cost of rigging is going to be at least a thousand dollars --most likely more.
The factory goes by suggested retail pricing--I don't know how much that is discounted--by dealers--but my understanding is that they are "susposed" to keep the same price: http://www.c-dory.com/22%20pricing.htm The basic boat is $35,733. Add in any accessories--and there are plenty of choices these days...
A good trailer will be well over 4K--So you add in $15,000 for the engines, and a trailer--you are not too far South of 60K.... _________________ Bob Austin

Welcome. I think you should absolutely be able to keep it in the 50's as long as you don't go hog wild with electronics, autopilots, etc. Twin 50's rigged will add about $12,500 or so to the price of the hull. You can quite easily break into the 60's if you lose control. Good luck and have fun! Mike. |

I just bought a new 2007 from Wefing with Camperback, windlass, VHF, 3 batteries, cooler package, shore power, trim tabs, dual axle aluminum trailer w/brakes, Suzuki 90 and my GPS installed and got a better deal than whats been quoted here ( it was under $50K). You don't say what part of the country you are in but it appears to me that CD's not being as popular in the SE don't command as high prices as they do in the PNW. The dealer in Palatka FL just got rid of a brand new 2006 with Honda 90 and trailer for around $43,000. There's a new dealer in Charleston SC that appears to have a pretty big inventory and some pretty good prices. With the 2008's out I think you get a pretty good discount on the remaining 2007's dealers have. In some cases the factory gives a factory discount on left over 2007's. If you goggle C-Dory on the boat trader website many CD dealers list there inventory here with prices and pictures. As stated before it's pretty easy to add $5K to the price with added electronics. _________________ marvin

Talked with the Superior Wisconsin dealer the other day and he is giving good discounts on his in stock CD's to reduce winter carryover. Check with your nearest dealer. |

There are a few options that add quite a bit to the total cost. As mentioned electronics can. Walas or no Walas makes almost a $3k difference. There is a difference in cost between regions too as you have to add for shipping. What region do you live in and maybe we can send you to a good dealership? |

I, too, did signifigantly better than the 50's on our new Angler with twins and a simple electronics package and trailer. I got an absolutely fantastic deal from EQ Harbor Service in W. Washington. I suspect, though, that most people put more on than I did, and I also got the last remaining 07 Angler. The devil's in the details. Mike. |
