West Marine is having a sale on Lifesling 2 for $75 (online only.) I am trying to figure out what the difference is between the Lifesling 2 and the Lifesling 3. Both seem to have 21# flotation, can be used to lift, etc., etc.
As far as I can tell the only difference is the SOLAS reflective tape and the fiberglass case, both of which I can do without. Am I missing anything?
Thanks,

Thanks, I must have missed the line length specs -- Worst Marine described both as having 21# of flotation. Still, it does not sound like enough of a significant difference to make the higher price worthwhile.

Warren,
I have the Lifesling 2 and it barely fits on the aft rail. I chose it after seeing not too much difference between the two and needing the smaller, soft package.

In my opinion, the Lifesling 2 is plenty for our boats. If nothing else, the bulky hard case of the Lifesling 3 is a disadvantage for us.
Mounting it can be a trick, too, depending on what you've got where in your cockpit. Here's my solution. _________________ Timothy R. R. Flanagan |
