This last trip was quite short for us due to other commitments but I learned the value of still applying the effort even if your only going on a over nighter!
Myself, my Son and Grandson got out of Whittier by 11 A.M and hit the usual holes hoping to put a few Salmon in the box but due to the extremely nice day we were having, it turned into a sight seeing adventure. We did however get a couple nice fish.
About 4:30 we headed for a new Anchorage we wanted to try, and cast our hook into a pool of Pinks at the base of a really cool waterfall!
All this fish activity had the local Black Bears interest as well and they entertained us till we decided it was bed time.
After a peaceful breakfast the next morning we got out and picked up a couple more fish before heading for home.
Photos in the album!
Signature trip, Priceless.

Nice feeesh Mike and good look'n kid! Yeah I agree, sometimes the shorter, non-planned excursions are the best. Weather looks to have been perfecto too, great pics. _________________ Steve & Carmen

Mike
Agree that sometimes those out of the blue, unexpected, unplanned sight seeing events can be a wonder. We had one of those days out of Pelican this year on our trip and it was one of the best days we had.
Thanks for sharing this experience with write up and photos. Wished even more c-brats would follow your example. Good motivation for us to extend the effort needed to cruise in the Hunkydory up there in the future.
