Created new album to add photos of Alaska cruise, but whether its me or the site I've managed after several hours only 4 photos and have over a hundred I would like to upload. Believe I'am doing it the same as always. After doing the add photo thing when I hit the upload now button it just starts timing out on the lower left side where it shows Internet status on the add photo page and the page is lost before the photos are added to album. Of the 4 photos I was able to upload they were either done one or two at a time. But now it times out before even one can be uploaded.

Would like to share the photos. Have run out of time tonight. Would appreciate some help.

Jay

Jay-

Uploading photo time is a function of your connection speed and how large the files are.

Probably not much you can do about the connection speed without re-connecting some other way, but if you can shrink the files before you load them, they'll load a lot faster.

The site automatically "resizes" the photo file to make it smaller and more manageable if it's too large. Photos with 4-6 megapixels are definitely not necessary for our albums.

Can you convert the files to smaller file size or resolution before you try to upload them?

Joe.

Photos are high resolution. Have high speed Internet connection. Can't remember any past problems.

The photo add and upload tab is trying to connect to site when the upload now is hit and can't even though it tries to start transferring the photos. It seems to be a not being able to connect problem that is causing the non transfer of photos.

With being gone 6 weeks and now working 6 days a week haven't the time to resolve this through learning photo shrinking.

Thanks for the help,

Jay

Still problems posting photos. Posting page says it can't connect to Internet yet at times can post one to three photos without it dropping out. Last time I tried. It dropped out on one photo. Must be my computer. Sure is frustrating. Don't believe its a question of photo quality. Have checked the mb of one picture to another and some times it will upload a high mb photo next time it won't upload a low mb photo.

Jay-

Sounds like you're having problems staying connected.

Could be in your computer or the server, I guess!

Many servers have a limit as to the size of files they transfer. I down size my files before trying to put them on C Brat albums. Keep the high resolution in one folder and use a photoshop type of program to make smaller JPEG images. Then download these images to the site. I usualy change the 5 images to 10 images to download. I don't know what the limit is at one time. But the lower resolution photos seem to down load faster than higher resolution photos.

Could be http file transfer problems. Use CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/
to clean out your browser. It does not help if the server is slow, busy, under maintenance but ccleaner is free and no adware or spyware.

Brent-

Too bad the cleaner program appears to be only for PC's!

I think I could use a similar program on my Mac!

Anyone know of such?

Joe.

Downloaded CCleaner said I had 751 errors but the trial version only identifies them, but does not fix. To fix they want you to pay for a better version. I'am inclined to believe this is a rip off. My oldest son who has a part time job for best buy just went through and cleaned my computor last week.

Jay-

The CCleaner program gave me a free download good for use on 5 browsers and suggested I make a donation.

I decided I'd use it first, and did, and it cleaned up quite a bit and speeded up my Safari browser quite a bit!

Ok it was just a suggestion to clean up the browser.

I am using the free version of CC
http://www.ccleaner.com/

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! Smile

A donation is highly recommended.

I use Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ to quickly resize, adjust color depth, convert to web, etc images but opening up Gimp or Photoshop. It is free but donations are recommended.
