Got her on the calendar. May hook up with some others of us coming down from the north a bit, and depending on water levels, put in at the State Park in Eufaula, AL, and take the river(s) down.
For those who would like to go down and back up the river....say so on here. I have not made this river trip, but understand it is a nice 2 night/3 day cruise up, and/or down.

Plans have changed a little, instead of a crossing...we will be trailering into Eastpoint and launching on Wensday evening...late. Judy will be coming with me this year and we will be bringing the boats namesakes as well, Miss Daisy and Mr. Dabber Doo (Papillons).
Pat, I sure hope you have enough water in the river to make that trip. Brother Boo and I sure enjoyed it last year and we didn't have to get out an push even though the Lockmaster told us we might have too based on the reports he was getting. Good Luck and can't wait to see you all again this year.

Cathy & I plan to attend and bring the new boat doggie. Maybe she will have a name then If there is water in the river we will join Pat in floating into town. Sounds like fun. For you folks coming long distances with some travel time don't forget Lake Martin is a good stopping point. Wind Creek state park has slips with power, plenty of water (even in this bad drought) and lots of RV parking. Probably 6-7 hours drive from Apalachicola. That time of year you will have the place to yourselves. Except for us anchored in a near buy cove watching Eagles and other wildlife. |

Hummm....no water in the river....????
Jeff... you may be on to something nice here with the State Park... You may need to set up a "pre-gathering" gathering for those who could make it down. I gotta take a gander at my calendar....but, that is guaranteed water, and we could do a couple/few nights traveling about the hidden gem of a lake in AL. 750 miles of shoreline...real clean clear water....and a few great food joints too.
Just might be a better idea than the river this year with the waters as they are. Me no push 25' boat....but glad to pull one many miles for gathering with the C-Brat gang. |

Any folks starting in the Orange Beach, on East area, we will be happy to "lead" the pack. We have made this run a number of times. It is really a nice cruise. |

Weflings:
Brenda and I had a great time last year. We launched at Orange Beach AL and cruised in on the ICW with weather delays (3 nights and 4 days). Boy was that a fun cruise.
Byrdman:
We would very much like to follow you and other friends from Eufaula AL down the river to the gathering. Just let us know the date and time.
