I have an opportunity to buy a like new rollup 8.5' inflatable cheap! This boat weighs only 45 lbs! Can a carry this dinghy on the sport racks of an R25?
Is there a better way to carry such a boat?

You can carry it rolled up on the cabin top. You can roll it up and carry it in the cocpit. You can carry it inflataed on the cabin top (depending on what else you have up there, and you and have a rack made over the cockpit to carry it inflated. We carry a 9'4" infatable on the CD 25 and Tom Cat 255.

I have a used 8'8" Zodiac that probably runs in the 60 lb. range. I've attached it across the swim platform on Weaver davits. I love how easy it is to pivot it up on the davits and tie it off on my stern rail. My dingy rides like a champ and it also makes it so much safer getting in and out of the dingy because they hold it so tightly up against the platform when you get in and out. Falling in the drink in Prince William Sound in Alaska is not the way to start your day. Link below takes you to the Weaver online store.
