We have a griddle, bought at WalMart, that fits the Wallas perfectly. We 'fry' the bread, with a little oil on the griddle, and the toast is perfect and wonderfully tasty. Same with French toast, pancakes, etc.

So, measure the Wallas stove top dimension, and head to Wal Mart.

For some reason that question strikes me as something quite wonderful. I am anxiously awaiting responses from Joe and Dr. Bob. Ya gotta love this site.

I do the same thing as Bill and El but use butter (if available), great for morning bagels too - slice in half, butter, griddle fry, then honey or cream cheese! I have the alcohol stove though.

OK, I'm hungry now, gotta go...

(You asked for it!)

You better make that toast quick before the Wallas makes toast of itself!

Joe. Teeth

And if you're lucky enough to be electrified, the small George Forman grill will make the best toast and grilled (ham) cheese sandwiches imaginable. For the ham & cheese, simply butter both sides, toss on the grill, lower lid, and 3 minutes later it comes out perfect every time. Same time for toast, garlic toast, etc.

As a former Wallas owner may I suggest as an alternative, purchase a Honda generator and a four slice toaster. So it shouldn't be a total loss, place the toaster on the Wallas. I hope I don't come across as a wise guy, Truth be told, I've been thinking about this question and chuckling most of the day.

Someone summed up the whole Wallas experience great on the other thread: it's great when it works.

The griddle on the Wallas works great for toast, don't let anybody put you off on that plan! Wal-Mart has one that exactly fits the Wallas. OTOH, the Honda 2000i and the toaster oven do a pretty good job too!

Here is a picture out of a Wallas Catalog. This is my first try so I hope it works.

Now we just have to find one of those racks.

We don't have a Wallas, so we just plug our toaster right into the inverter, even underway. Works great. We have a designated boat toaster.
Gotta love it!

Give that Wallas enough time and it will make toast out of itself. Scan Marine is shipping mine back today with a new circuit board, combustion fan motor and tuneup. About $600.

Me and the kids are going to try one of them hand held campfire wire screen toaster gizmos one of these days. The stovetop gets hot enough.
