Colinate Fleet wax paste

Some of you have reccomended Colinate Fleet wax paste as the best product for deck and top. Where can I get this product in the PNW?

I think it is Collinite, not "Colinate" - we got it at Lummi Fish Supply in Bellingham, probably are other places too.

You can get it at WestMarine. If not in the store, online for sure. Also, I ordered some last year online but I can't remember through whom. If you go to the Collinite website, they give you a distributors page (see link below). If you click on Oregon, nothing comes up but in Washington State, LFS in Bellingham comes up. Good luck in your search.

Pardon the dumb question as I have not seen any previous posts on this product, but what is it that everyone likes about it ?
I just finished polishing our boat in time to protect it from the resident packs of barn swallows that have adopted us and who produce vast hordes of incontinent young.

I really like it, but they don't joke. Do NOT apply in hot sun (if you can ever find hot sun up here).

The hotter it is, the smaller a patch you do at a time. Use a damp
cloth for application. If you accidently get too much on and
it dries, it is not the end of the world to get it off. However, if
you continue in that mode, you will be working very, very
hard that day.

I've used the paste for years and have had it occasionally
dry on me. I've always been able to buff it out.

I am behind the times and use the 885 paste fleet wax. Collinite is a high concentration of #1 Brazilian Carnauba wax. It is extremely hard, and lasts much better than the cheaper waxes. I am at the point where I can no longer do the work invovled with waxing--and had both the Tom Cat and Rv waxed about a month ago. The fellow doing the job refused to use fleet wax--too hard to apply--and used Meguiar’s Flagship Premium Marine Wax. Only a month later I can see the differnce--the Mequiars is not holding up like the Collinite Fleet wax.

If it is easy to put on, I don't think it will give the protection. Hopefully I'll be in good enough shape in a few months to give the boats another coat of Collinite fleet paste wax. [/u]

885 paste fleet wax == exercise in a small can. It works very well. We saw our second to last boat the other week - maroon - still looks great. Most
dark colored "Regals" from the mid 80s don't.

I really need to get up the energy to do a full covering on the C-Dory. There's
more gelcoat on a 22 than I would have thought!
