A heads up
Just went by EQ and saw a notice posted that they are closed through June 25th to catch up on backlog of work. They're not taking any new orders for work or boats during this period.
And, Les's note said if you "have to talk to them" go around back. I interpret that as "Please don't try to reach us unless your boat is sinking" _________________ Patti and Barry on C-Cakes |

Les told me something to the effect that some boats en route to his shop were damaged in transit and the job of fixing them has thrown a monkey wrench into his schedule.

They will recover and get great things done. I kind of like the idea of small shops, taking care of folks in a big way, instead of some trends towards big shops, shuffling folks thru in a small way. Just my opinion....and there is a reason folks drive cross country to get their boats rigged there....even when we have to wait.
Hey Ol' Dusty! Was up in some of your old stomping grounds last week. Norfolk, VA....touring the fleet. Awesome set up. If that site of those awesome vessels did not give a person goose bumps... they need to check and see if they have a pulse....and then to see if they have American citizenship. What a wonderful trip.

Yep, Pat --
A ton of memories of Norfolk and surrounding area. Most good. So many years, so many pints of blood!!
Don't forget the She Crab Soup and Soft Shell Crab Cakes when you are there! And above all, enjoy!!!

Pat,
Talked to Les and Kath this a.m. - your remarks were greatly appreciated. Most customers understand, and I wish they all did. Losing over 1/2 of your working staff with a yard full of sold boats with firm delivery dates is enough without all of the other stuff... first time in 21 years that EQ has had to do this. And they should survive okay.
So difficult, in a small town like Oak Harbor, to find qualified help -- then of course they have to be trained, go to specialized schools, etc. See ya soon, eh?
