Since the transducer is below the waterline, is it reading water depth from that point, near the bottom of the boat, or...? |

Measures from face of trandsucer, however most depthsounders have settings to compensate for actual hull depth. At least all that I have used in the last few years do...

And to follow along with Dusty's post -- we set the 0 depth for our transducer at 2 feet below the hull. This puts the zero at the props, with a little margin of safety. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)
