Winter is finally losing it’s grip in Alaska and we had to get a little shake down voyage even though it is still a little cold. We actually had a pretty good day of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday with rain Sat night and raining harder as we came into Whittier Monday morning.

Hopefully many more adventures yet to come this summer.

Great pictures. We are so lucky down here in the tropics of oregon and washington weatherwise. Curious about the dog, a Visla?

Confirms what I thought. My son has one and she is a jewel. We kept her over the christmas holidays and had a ball with her. Way too active for us more "mature" adults but for young adults like my son they are great dogs.

Great pictures, Joe and Cathy. That shot of the Sea Star as a hat is a classic! Looks like a great time had by all - and many more of the same to come, we trust.

We too really enjoyed your pictures. Thanks much for sharing. Hope to have the Hunkydory up there next year seeing more of that area first hand.

Jay

Seldovia Alaska
Just got back from a wonderful week down in Seldovia Alaska.
Caught lot's of halibut and had a wonderful week exploring.

Came across yesterday morning on some large seas back to Homer and was glad to be in my cozy C-dory although it tossed us around pretty good.

Here are some photos from the trip:

Cheers

Wow you guys caught some really nice fish this time around. Your photo skills seem to be getting really good. Wish I could have made it out but I've been fixing all the stuff I broke on the boat last summer.

Hey Catdogcat

Sorry we did not hook up. It was a fun trip. I think I hit a log on the way back as I had a chunk of fiberglass/gelcoat missing from my port side front and low about the size of a silver dollar. There is always something to fix on the boat but it sure is fun.

I think I will not be back to Homer this summer, we will be focusing on PWS now.

Cheers,

Joe

Could you post a pic of the gouge that you received? Let me know how you fix it. I've been looking at some of those gel coat repair kits, the ones where you add pigment. Curious to how they work. I'm hopefully planning a week long trip to PWS around the 4th of July. Maybe we could hook up and you can school me on how to catch Ling Cod. Wink I just spent the last couple weeks redoing my trailer bearings, trailer lights, trailer lift jack, windshield wiper install, new switch panel, restained all teak, and finally polished and waxed entire boat. Currently I'm fabbing up a homemade Permatrim. Lots of work but I enjoy it. Especially working with metals.

Awesome pics. Thanks for sharing. Sure gives one the urge to move to Alaska.
