I think I'm doing this wrong.

I bought a Seatalk 2 cable. I thought it connected directly to the back of the lmf 200 as there was a separate wire that had almost the same colors.

Is this incorrect?

The seatalk 2 cable has red, white, black, blue, and bare. The extra cable coming from the back of the LMF guage has red, white, black, blue, AND green and brown. Is this where I connect it, or is this a separate GPS function of the fuel flow meter.

Trying to get this thing up and running before halibut fishing on Friday. I have a hunch that I'm supposed to be splicing into something else.....any words of wisdom??

You might try reading this link for some insights. Been there done that. I think the LMF200 kit sold today is different than the one I bought because I had to build a seatalk to lowrance jumper cable. Nevertheless, with a working LowranceNet/nmea2000 bus, the white and blue are data, the red/black is 12v power and I suspect the others are gauge lighting but I'm not sure but Lowrance service or someone on "The Hull Truth" might help ya.

Do you mean you cut off the NMEA-2000 connector off the NMEA-2000
cable coming out of the LMF-200 and the above is what you see, or are
you talking about the bare wires that connect to the buzzer and helm
lighting circuits?

I didn't cut anything. They must be the wiring for the helm and the buzzer, why I didn't think of that I don't know.

I think I need to connect the C-80 into the bus system.

Yup, you will need to splice in the appropriate Raymarine connector. The thread
link posted above seems to contain all the info you need. Splicing NMEA-2000
doesn't seem to be as hard as I would have thought. The LMF-200 manual will
tell you what the bare wires you already have do. Well, most of them. There
was one wire you mentioned that wasn't in the online manual. However, I've
seen Lowrance equipment with "unused" wires before.
