C-Brats,
Looks like we are the proud owners of a 25 ft C-Ranger. We received word from the factory that a C-Ranger was sent to Wefing Marine in East Point , Fl. I guess they got Crystal Rivers franchise. Mark ( the owner ) and Buzz ( the top salesman ) are good guys to deal with. We have traded in the Hunky Dory and got about what we would have sold it for. It just so happened the boat was equiped about the way we would have ordered it. Even the bow and stern thrusters. I hope we get a click going for us c-ranger guys to compare notes. This boat has a 125 horse Yanmar in it . They don't mention that in any paperwork. We have not taken possession yet because the are putting on the electronic package. I should have taken the information pac. just to have something to look at.
So far I would go way out of my way to do bussiness with Wefing. Seems like pretty straight.
We will keep you posted.

Congrats to you! 'Sounds exciting. What hull color and accent color?

Woo hoo, lucky you. The line was so long at the SBS I couldn't even get a look at it. Sure looked sweet though with the bicycle rack and kayaks on top. Congrats!!

What a thrill.... I looked that boat at the SBS over real well...and I think it's a real winner... what fun...I am real anxious to hear all about it's performance...it looks like it should move real well...and I love those thrusters.... hopefully you will trailer it some and someday we will meet on the water somewhere....
I have seen Wefings advertisements several places and those that have met them think they are a pretty good dealer.... what I like about them is that they contribute on this site....kinda like Les does.. I like hearing from the folks that sell and service the boats..

Congrats, Captd! Way to go!
A buddy of mine up here in Duluth, MN bought the first C-Dory Wefings sold and said they're great to work with! Good to hear.
Have fun with the CR25! Same name - Hunky Dory? _________________ Boatless Al |

I figure you have read the review of the boat in the current issue of Passagemaker. You probably want to check that when the boat is delivered to you it has the "fixes" on it.
I saw it and went aboard at the SBS and it is a very, very nice boat. |

Good show on the new boat, I am sure you will have a great
time on it. Just one note however, knowing no one can read
all the books and manuals that come with a new boat.
I was reading the Yanmar 30hp book that came with the Ranger
21 tug and noticed there is quite a service checkup at 50
hours. Worth keeping in mind so you don't get into a long
adventure and the hour meter says 49.7. Little more than
a oil change but did look hard to do yourself if your inclined.
I did need a service book however and I got that ordered from
Tacoma Diesel local a local Yanmar dealer.
Again have fun and be careful. Bob Heselberg Eatonville Wa[/b] |

Good News on the Tug purchase. Some great waters to spend your time in too while you are completing the breakin hours on the motor... You should love that boat. Tell Buzz, Marc, Lee and the gang in Eastpoint I said Hey!! Is your boat going to the Miami boat show or one from another FL C-Ranger dealer??

Wailedcentipede,
I'd vote for your "click" idea, although click may not be the right word.....it has negative connotations like exclusion of others. But a separate heading on this forum would be good, maybe one that John Livingston or someone from the company would monitor to answer questions. We have different issues, like stuffing box maintainance, that the C-Dory folks could care less about. How do we go about suggesting that?

C-Ranger Tug Owners: I agree that there are issues that will be different and eunique to the tugs, simply due to the inboard issues, but speaking for myself, I like the reading and education of the tug world, even if today I do not own one. It ain't like I will never buy another boat.... And, being sure to complete your individual profiles would also help us track the home ports of the hulls... and, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly would also help us potential owners to look for particular things as we may purchase one. Never a perfect boat built.
All the "Tug Thugs" (now that was meant to rhyme...and be a bit of humor..pick another if ya wish... ) have to do is when they start a NEW TOPIC POST, is to start it with something you all agree on...
say like:
R-25 or R-21
and then follow it by what ever you want to talk about...
say like:
performance numbers
which would read
R-25 Performance Numbers
R-21 Performance Numbers
R-25 Engine Break In
R-21 Stuffing Box Maintainance
Now... just like all other boats.... folks might have to read these post for the information, and some information that might just cross-pollinate into what ever boat they own.
Good Stuff...and for sure I am watching the Tug Thug Talk.... Humm TTT?
I guess being raise around the Cumberland River and other working rivers, just watching the tugs go buy all the time sort of seems like I should just own and be part of one. A large part of my life enjoying wonderful vessels.
Still holding my breath for the Livingstons to build a big brother of the CR-21-EC on the hull of the CR-25. That would be sweet... |

Maybe the simplest solution to dividing and categorizing the TUG information and posts would be to create a Forum Topic in the Library section to deal with Tug Technical Topics, so as to allow the accumulated information to be grouped for convenience, while the current discussions go on in just the normal manner for all to read.
The PUB topics will probably overlap, be integrated within, and be inseparable from the rest of the social yackity-yack (!)
