Cleaned up the Shannon Colleen this week and fooled her into thinking she was going on the water today. She had a doctors appointment at E.Q. Marine for her 200 hour checkup and have a water leak investigated, the last two times on the boat I found a small amount of water in the V-berth area where the portipot sets. The boat is under a covered carport with only the very front of the bow past the eves and that portion is covered with a boat cover, I do not understand where the water is coming from and this is troubling because I had a dehumidifier on all winter also so I would expect no moisture. Well it is under warenty so let the trained people find the problem. The good part is I am having radar and trim tabs installed and a control bar system to tie the kicker to the main. These items should improve the time spent out on the water.

Dan – if the porta pot is in your boat with water in it, the water you see under it could be from condensation on the port pot that drips off and collects under it. Even if you have a dehumidifier, there can still be some moisture in the air. If it is just a little water, I would remove the port pot and see if it comes back.

Dave, I thought about that also and removed the porta pot, guess what the water was there after that. I am baffeled by it, but the good folks at E.Q. will find out what the problem is I hope.

I am bringing this topic to the top with a new post. we are still searching for answers to the question where is the water comming from. I took the boat to Redmond Searay on 5/21/07, they put it in to the dunk tank 5/22/07 and as of late they sill can not find the source of the water entry. E.Q, marine pulled the bow guard thinking it may have been two long of screws used at the time of installation and ruled that issue out. Has anyone had simular problems? If so how was it resolved?
Thanks for any ideas,
Dan.
