Dave,
Not to worry! The old dusty one has been to most of the U offices in the area. No sense, no fear.
Was enjoying the beautiful sunshine and conversation in the Jon/C. hacienda in Port Angeles -- watching Cynthia train her new puppy. "Stay." "Sit." "Roll over." It was when she said, "Next" and I heard the sound of snapping gloves in the background that I realized I was late for the Port Townsend Ferry back to Whidbey! That's a joke, sweetie, honest !!
Saw SSSS today while watching the canvas guys installing the DaNag cabana... both CD's are looking great! And I'll trade a ride on mine for a ride on yours!

Pat,
The 150s are sippers not gulpers! 136 gals of fuel should take you... hmmm.... not very stinkin' far, I'm afraid. Sure won't know until Les gets them hanging on the back.
I've completely run out of excuses (reasons) to get a new boat - just couldn't stand going to EQ and seeing her sitting there without a fish in the box. The original purchaser decided to get a 27' Orca so there she was, lonesome and unloved. We hope for a comfortable cruise at about 20 knots, with a top of maybe 50... guarantee she will spend a lot more time under 20 than anywhere near 50! We plan to fish Canada a lot this year, so long runs are over the horizon.

Not to worry, Casey or Mike - the Beerguys are good for the keg, no money will be accepted, we get a REALLY good price (we have, you can be sure, paid in full for the beer over the last six or seven years)! But when you see a cabernet trimmed 22' pull in, either one, be sure to check if we could use a hand unloading it... A full size keg weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 160 lbs! This time we will be prepared - either two ponies or one full size keg...you guys drained the pony before my engines had cooled off last time!
Da Nag - how about a poll on the flavor? Wildcat IPA, Copperhead Pale Ale or PGA Amber?? Or for something completely different, how about Spring Fever Belgian Style Grand Cru??

I see that the powers above have wisely included me on the beer choice ballot. I want all to know that if elected, I will serve, and serve, and serve. And as your candidate of choice, I will listen to all thirsty voters, not just those with blue, 16 footers. I am here for you. I will listen to your salty voices. Give me your confidence and I will boldly go before the Beer Board and demand two Cat kegs. |

Hey, WadeV, look forward to meeting you and your wife this year. Jim, good idea. If elected, I'll propose one Cat and one Copperhead. How does our constituency from the South and North lean, I wonder. |

I've got a question for some of you old salts. After the Blakely trip, the family and I will be heading over to Vancouver Is. to visit the gardens. Has any one crossed the boarder since 9-11. What is the routine at customs? And how about getting back into the great U.S. of A.? What is needed in the way of ID. Any help would be appreciated.

Well we crossed into Canada from Alaska on 9/12/01 and it took us 8 hours. But since then nothing has really changed much. They say you should have your birth certificate with you but they have never checked ours. We have basically just used the phone from the dock and they clear us. |

Do not know the definitive answer here...have only crossed at Blaine and the 8th Ave border crossing in a car. All the info you need about where the customs docks are and their phone numbers is in Waggoner, if you don't have that head straight to West Marine and pick it up. I would be prepared with EITHER a passport OR picture ID (driver's license) and proof of citizenship (birth certificate) - better to have them and not need them than the other way around!

Hi all,
When we were vacationing in your state last summer (headquartered in Sequim) we wanted to try the ferry from Port Angeles to Vancover for the same trip.
Were told that you'd need Passport or Birth Certificate...and a Photo ID such as a drivers license.
Have to go ...waiting for 6 - 8 inches of snow back here in PA tonite.
PS: hope to be back this summer! _________________ GeneK |

Terry,
We crossed from the San Juans into Canada last summer. We entered at Port Sydney Marina. The procedure is to enter the marina and tie up at the Customs dock( its marked). Then take your information and call on the special Customs phone on the dock. If you are in compliance,(US citizens with documents, not too much liquor or cigarettes, etc.)they will probably check you in by phone. They assign you a number to enter in your log. Thats it! You can then go on to your destination or get a guest dock.
We have entered at Port Sydney many times. They have never come down to our boat, but they can come down to your boat and do an inspection.
If you bring firearms, Customs will come to you to inspect your boat and guns. _________________ Larry H

One thing to remember is only the skipper can leave the vessel until you have cleared customs and that's only to talk to customs. It's about $1,000 fine if you do. |
