Although 12.65 volts is "normal" you might want to put the charger on, and leave it on--letting the voltage drop (as it may do when the ingniter comes on, will increase the current draw.)--you need to test the voltage when the glow plug is drawing the current....Your problem is most likely a low voltage when there is current draw, rather than high voltage.

My Wallas has a 15 amp fuse.

There are other ways of getting the fuel to the pump--which might be better on the lungs (I know we all do it)--a small suction bulb will work fine, or get the fuel siphoning--be sure that all fuel line connections are tight also.

tyboo tyboo, if sucking on the hose works then BLOWING on the air vent hose at the tank works better and does not taste as bad.

I did have the charger on the battery after the first blown fuse. Now its a blown fuse right away and not time to see whats going on. I even an a spare fan on the power lead that plugs in to the unit to make sure the problem was not happening beffore the unit. besides for $250 it had better work with not problems. I think that something got crossed. maybe in the combustion chamber, something hitting the glow plug and grounding it out.

For $250 you should get them to .... better not say that one ... prime the fuel line.

My sentiments, exactly, been saying/aluding to it for years around here!

Butane's Hot
Wallas' Not!

Diesel Sucks
Butane Trucks!

BURMA SHAVE!

(Valid for both butane and propane)

No amount of poetic prose will convince me to go butane. Our wallas lights, stays lit, makes good heat and is safe. What it cost is a relative thing, I'm gonna spend money on the boat for one thing or another anyway!

No disrespect Mike......But for 2000$ you could get a Force 10 , propane cook top and a M-16 . Plus extra cash for ammo.

And, unlike the Wallas, you wouldn't have to use the gun to shoot yourself when the stove 'backfires"!

(Remember that discussion?)

we shoulkd try to talk C-Tick into to engineering up a replacement means of cooking and heating for our boats.

All I know is that little Wallas that we have has provided me many hours of enjoyment.......good thing I enjoy removing and installing and tearing it appart. I may have paid to much for it though Smile

c-Spirit, Your Wallas is working fine. The left burner is supposed to burn twice as hot as the right on any given setting.

I have a Wallas related question of my own. Does deisel fuel go bad the same as gasoline? Mine hasn't been used in a long time. Should I empty the diesel tank and replace with new, or is the old fuel okay?

Thanks C-Brats.

Diesel should be a light caramel color, if it has turned dark, replace it.
