As some of you may remember Shan and I have found it to be quite a unsurmountable task to name our boats. Our 16 Angler went by the name of noname, our photo album here at C-Brats is TBD. Now we have the challenge of coming up with a name for our 19 Angler.
From the suggestions I have received from the rest of you here at this site, I realize that its best to come up with your own name.
The other day I told Shan, "OK, if we cant come up with a name then lets just call the boat X. " Then I thought how so many of you add a C- to the start of your boat name. C-X ? I asked Shan, "What do ya think of calling the boat C-X." Her reply is not printable. Here I thought I could have my two favorite pastimes combined. Boating and ....
Anyways - no point in this story - no suggestions needed for names, we will come up with one soon. Is Pequod taken? |

Tom, It looks like C-Nile isn't taken! Depends on your age if this is appropriate.
Good luck... _________________ Roger

I went through the same angst you are experiencing. Some of the things I considered were, in no particular order or importance:
something different, how many "Carpe Diem" do you see?
I tried to stay away from the cutsey nautique "Romantasea"
I think most plays on "C" are taken
A big consideration was ease of saying the name
The next consideration that followed was its intelligibility over a
sometimes weak VHF signal
I am sure there are a lot more to consider - I almost renamed "C of Heartbreak" but supersitition got the better of me.
In my case "Sailor-D" was my firstly my email then I bought the C Dory, the name had grown on me and the boat was so named.
Good luck in your choosing.
Cheers - Dave |

You are from Shoreline, so why not drop the line and put a C in front of it for C-Shore

It seems to be a contest of can I top all the other stupid names on the back of other boats. Can you just pick a real word these days or is it a requirement to pick the lamest name you can imagine. |

You're good, Mr. Sark - real good. Thanks! That's funny.
If them folks would just name their new 19 Shan-C and be done with it, we can keep this thread going for the entertainment value and not have to worry about helping the poor folks out. _________________ TyBoo Mike

I just love it when we get a live one, cant wait to see where this goes. I guess I thought boat naming was about unique-ness?
Tom and Shan, how about C-ant Decide, then when you move to a 22 then 25 etc, you can carry the name with you?
Mike on the stupidest of all "Huda Thunkit"

Hey, I just figured out why the title of this thread sounds familiar. Naming My Boat - wasn't that a Paul Anka song back when I was a kid? |
