Well after my first sea trials with the Permatrim installed I must say this thing is SWEEEET!!! Its like I have a whole new boat. The boat starts off right on plane and never leaves it. The porpoising issue is non-existent and the ride is much smoother. I must say that this is the best improvement made to the boat so far. I can't say much for the bigger guys/gals but for 16'ers this is a must have!!!
Tight lines.....
Brandon
p.s. went out Fri. & Sat. looking for sturgeon/stripers and couldn't get a single bite for 17 hours of fishing!! But enjoyed every minute of it. |

Brandon – when I got my 16, I was disappointed with the ride and handling of the boat. I made a copy of the Permatrim before my second time out and could not believe the difference in the ride and handling of the boat. Like you, I believe it is the best add-on I have made to the boat. Anybody with a 16 should get one.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love my Permatrim. I put it on the Suzuki 70hp and then again on the Suzuki 90 hp after trying just trim tabs on the 90. I like the way it gets the bow down much better than TT's. I also like the way it helps the boat track and we no longer have any porpoising problems.

As posted elsewhere, I love the effect the Permatrims have had on the TomCat's two Honda 150's. Very low planing speed, even with them set flat. Minimizes porpoising, esp. heading upwind. Extremely close control in all situations so far!

Ok, OK, I have a set on order--I'll have before and after fuel and speed numbers to compare. My main goal is to plane at lower speeds, and supress the rooster tail. We will see... _________________ Bob Austin

Hey Bob,
I'm really impressed that you've joined the PermaTrim party. They are pretty cool, I definitely like mine. I think you'll be real happy with them. _________________ Mark on Mighty Bite |

And the best part about Permatrim's is being able to sit in the water on them enjoying life and cooling off which is always an asset in south Florida. The dog's especially like them as they use the platform to get in and out of the boat wether in the water or on the trailer! _________________ James, Betty, Luna cat and Moki dog on the TomCat Molly Brown

All you looking at buying the permatrim might want to consider the foil from "bob's machine" in tampa.
I put one on "cool change" and love it. It does all I need it to do.
