Dan,

Sorry you and Mark can't make it. Mark, I hope the wife is on the mend.

I see a few alternatives:

a. Go to Billy's Hole since a lot of us have never been there.

b. Retreat back to Derickson Bay (across Eaglek Bay from Schoppe Bay). Nice bay nice scenery, good hiking, fair number of bears, can't say much on the fishing.

c. Move south to the Perry Island area. Good fishing areas are nearby. Those who want fresh oysters, they are for sale at the South Bay Oyster Farm.

d. Go way south to the Knight Island area.

Thanks Tom, she is in a cast and will have to one arm it for 6 to 8 weeks.
Right now it's a matter of getting more comfortable with it, and getting a little more fetch and carry out of me.

Well folks it looks like our plans have changed too. We'll be heading down to Valdez the week of July 9. I guess we won't make the gathering, unless you guys are having such a good time it lasts for several additional days. If anyone will be is still around the week of the 9th and would like to meet up for some serious shrimping and fishing, give us a shout. Have a great time.

I plan to be in Port Fidalgo Tuesday afternoon (can you believe it is work related) and going to Cordova on the fourth. I'm sure we can meet up somewhere in that time frame. We were going to try to rent a beater and drive up the Million Dollar Bridge.

Denny,

You are the only one to chime in. I'll be out somewhere between Cordova and Whittier going back toward Whittier on the 7th. I would say somewhere around Perry Island on the 7th should work. I know of a couple of places.

I still plan on launching out of Whittier on the 3rd or 4th and cruising toward Valdez and then to Cordova weather permitting. It sounds like the event has fallen apart unless we hear otherwise. Everyone have a safe 4th. Maybe next time.

I'll be leaving Whittier on the 3rd bound for Port Fidalgo and then Cordova on the 4th. I think Dogon Dory will be there also. I'll look for you somewhere on the east side.

Does it have a name. The bay is there but not named on Google Earth. This is near some good shrimp and maybe still some reds at Main Bay.

Any good halibut spots nearby??
