OK, we are here at Poulso! It was a bit lumpy coming over from Shilshole, and docking was exciting to say the least! But lots of help with the lines, and we are tied up here in Poulsbo. My connection is through my Treo via Bluetooth, not half bad...everyone else is up at the Italian restaurant, we are in our cockpit having our sundowners, and will have the dinner we brought, socialize tomorrow! _________________

OK, morning report! Ain't shore power great! The little electric heater is keeping us nice and toasty, had eight or so people in the cockpit for some good conversation last evening, camperback kept us nice and dry. A few gusts but the wind never quite materialized as forecast, we had a peaceful night. Lunacy is on one side, Tyboo on the other, did not do a count but I would guess maybe 8 or more boats already here, hope more will be coming in throughout the day. Patty is still sleeping, I aways seem to wake up before 6:00 a.m. no matter what. Time to fire up the Wallas and get some coffee going! It is still dark, and it doesn't seem as through anyone is moving around on the dock yet...it just this second started raining, and it is coming down pretty good. That won't put too much of a damper on our good spirits! Looking forward to seeing everyone! |

Afternoon report! One more boat arrived, Chuck and Kathy on Bootleg Hootch - and Jim and Laurie (Laurna Jo) just phoned in, they are getting close. Fred and Robbin (Anita Marie), Robbi (C-Run), Jon and Cynthia (C-Lou) and Roger (Sensei) are here boatless. We have all enjoyed seeing Larry's and Nancy's (the former Nancy H) 37' Puget Trawler, its maiden voyage. The weather if anything has deteriorated. The clubhouse here is great, I cannot imagine our typical on-the-dock potluck here this weekend. More to follow!

The "Weather Weasels" really got it wrong this time !!
After driving down to Poulsbo because of the lousy weather Friday in Saratoga, and managing to say a few brief "hello's" we woke up this morning to promises of gusts to 45Kts on Whidbey. Since the last storm of less than than took out yet another 100 + ft of Douglas fir close to our house, we decided to "bail out" and head for home.
Kingston to Edmonds looked fairly sloppy but we arrived home to Whidbey to be greeted by dead calm, rain and fog !!!
So now we missd the potluck as well as the trip.

Pat – thank you for the reports. I am sorry I am unable to attend, but look forward to the Cathlament get-together. Got to finish my boat first and have a lot of plowing over at the ranch that needs to be squezed in somehow, before the 15th of April.
Been raining here all day. I am protected from the wind but not the rain.
Say hello to all the Brats for me.

Hey, Poulsbo Brats. Gimme five for braving weekend weather somewhat less desirable than Bellingham last July.
We were dealt a windy, rainy clunker this time around, but no amount of meteorological animosity can overshadow the friendships shared by salty comrades on this day. Stay dry, and have fun!

Thanks Pat!! I appreciate the update and do look forward to seeing the pictures of 8 folks in your cockpit... Had to be "friendly snug" with you, Roger..and some others that are not real small folks...but...for sure....where there are friends and boat, (and microbrewery goods)...their had to be much laughter and fun. Sure wish I could have been there.
Grump: Hate the loss of such a tree, but good thing it missed the house.

Well, the potluck was awesome! Jeff Messmer and family arrived, we had the usual great spread, appetizers, salads, stews, chili, kielbasa, boneless ribs in BBQ sauce, cornbread, hamburgers, a couple of cakes - and some Stone Wolf C-Brat Pinot Noir. Fired up the little folding two burner Coleman stove for the firt time, just right for this kind of event. Lots of sights, sounds, aromas, laughter - just another typical great CBGT. This morning we are going up to a restaurant, one of locals told us this is where we have to go, homemade bread, best French toast anywhere...can't really see what the weather is doing yet, but it was nowhere near as ferocious as the weather guessers predicted, yesterday evening it was actually quite nice here. All in all, another great one in the books! |

I know, "boneless rib" must sound a little like "giant shrimp" or "military intelligence" to you...not to worry, not the Mickie Dee pressed and formed variety! I know this is travesty in the South, but up here they sell nice packages of pork rib meat, we Yankees cook it nice and tender by stewing in catchup-based BBQ sauce - ya'll will have to try it some day!

Headed off to breakfast shortly...the weather is NOT cutting us any slack. No wind, but rain, rain, rain. Sort of like Swantown 2003, anybody remember that one? |

Sorry C-Cakes had to miss Poulsbo but with rotten weather, Patti having to work, and Barry wheezing and hacking, it just wasn't in the cards. Grrr. _________________ Patti and Barry

Sunday at 1:00 and we are the only C-Dory left... but I have to report that a great time was had by all!!! And the weather today, although rainy, looks to be calm for everyone's return voyage.
A big kudos to Tyboo's sweet little girls, who cleaned up the party room this morning - wow! Thank you! I gathered up my cleaning rags and when I went in the room was spotless!
The only chink in the weekend plans was the complicated system of reservation and payment. Since not everyone was able to come, we have some money left over. However, the first night's moorage was used to hold each boat's reservation and was non-refundable. Chris and I are going to figure out who paid but didn't attend, and try to refund at least part of their payment. Please be forgiving, we'll do our best!
See you at the next one!
