You nice people are giving us waaay to much credit, but thank you very much anyhow. Heck, we just showed up with an appetite and everyone feed us. It's always the group that makes the gatherings a success. If you all didn't show up, I would be running around the dock dodging C-Lou.
I'm not sure how we came up with the Oct. dates for this gig, but I can tell you we lucked out. Fog for a week before the gig and fog again this morning.
I want to thank everyone for contributing to the group campground fee, it wasn't expected, thanks.
Fred and Helen, thanks for feeding me/us breakfast and dinner and for everyones great dish.
Bill, the bottle openers and decals are perfect! Oh, and so are your lattes.
It really was a blast and we enjoyed every minute of it. |

Dusty,
You didn't miss the fishing crew as much as we missed getting any fish or sharing a tail with the our old salt Dusty. We did at least get that quick pass in the bay for a wave and howdy but alas, no fish for the dinner from us. Our closest thing to catching a fish was watching a big skate swim out from under the boat in a few feet a water. The other thing was listening to a couple of guys talk about their fish that were 66 and 48 caught at the change of tide. Since we didn't have a bite it was hard to listen to them talk on the radio till Jon and I talked back on the dock and he said most traffic in that area was from Canada and I realized that they were metric radio fish. Damn, we should have reeled in early and come back to the dock. Good stories with an old fish salt would have beat the heck out of metric fish. Sorry we missed out on the visit but glad you got to share hot dogs with the two great C-Girls. You're right, they are pretty special. See you next go round.

Sorrry folks - the ISP hosed things during an unannounced server upgrade sometime in the last few days. Things should be back to normal now.
Now...if you all don't mind, I think I'll get back to my vacation.
Oh - and ditto on the Sequim gig. What a blast - I'll blab more later, just horkin' an Internet connection from the C-Lou's...

Perhaps a little less blabbin' and horkin' and a little more bartendin' the Pub is in order. You are without question the Head Nerd, inasmuch as I wouldn't know how to begin to hose an ISP, but you are still the Junior Poob, and the stupid pictures still don't work.
I do hope that when the picture posting problem has passed that the test photos I tried to upload don't magically appear. Since we didn't take any Sequim pictures, the quickest pics for the test I could find were some that B~C emailed me. They would be better suited for a Treehouse than a Pub.
Enjoy your vacation!! _________________ TyBoo Mike

Pictures loaded. I still can't believe how smooth the water was on the way back from Victoria. I think the pictures provide a good image, though I doubt anyone would believe that it was the Straights...
And did we ever luck out - the fog has really been heavy these last few days, and the wind really picked up in Admiralty Inlet today...
I sure hope Robbi got home OK???

I am home!!! I arrived at the dock at 9:30 this morning. What a trip. Will tell more after I take care of the boat and myself.
Thanks to everyone who made the weekend so very special. Wow. What a super group of people. More on that later too.
I will tell you that I finally left John Wayne Marina on Monday at 3:30pm. The fog just went away. It was the most incredible run from Sequim Bay to Kingston. Flat calm, FLAT. The beautiful fall sun low on the horizon, and I just wish I could have turned around and seen 12 other C-Dorys following and enjoying the ride along with me.
A huge thanks to everyone. Robbi _________________ 2023 C-Dory 23 Venture Sport

Hi Robbi,
It was really nice to have finally met you and good to hear that you're back We're looking forward to reading about your adventures with C-Run. If we don't see you somewhere out on the Sound, then maybe at the Seattle Boat Show in January.

Thanks for the welcome home. It was a wonderful time with some amazing folks. I am so glad that I got messed up with this bunch of fine boaters. It was a delightful weekend (plus) that left me with many memories that will stick around for a very long time. Thanks to Pat and Patty and Mac and Linda for sharing the photos.
I would like to tell the short tale of my adventure to Sequim Bay, but will wait for another day. We had to put our beloved black lab down today, and we both are pretty sad. We have known that it was coming for many months, but it is amazing just how much our pets can touch our hearts.
Thanks again to you all who made me feel so welcome, and let me be a part of the coolest "pub" anywhere.
