Any boat which has an electric/hyraulic pump (autopilot motor) can be made to steer with buttons--right/left. I have put these on a number of boats--and just use monentary switches. I agree that using an auto pilot compass or GPS heading would not be at all satisfactory for remote steering at docking or fishing//unless one had the trolling motor type of auto pilot.

Some auto pilots have jog right and jog left bottons on the remote controls. Often these are direct control of the motor and are positive control.

"monentary switches" - sort of cross between momentary and monetary - I assume that these devices do fast currency exchanges Wink.

The Tom Cat 255 is definately a very quick currency exchange--sorry for the "n" instead of the "m".
