|

One of the needs I found in my first season, was good rod storage to get them off the Vberth bunks. I added a pair of 4 poly rod holders purchased from West Marine, which I cut down to 3 postion to fit the limited space. I looked into mounting them on Teak boards, but with the high price I went with Purple Heart wood, which is being used in place of Teak. Found the price about 1/4 of Teak, and was very pleased with the finished product. Not wanting to screw into the hull, I used a clear Marine Goop to glue to the hull, seems to be real solid. Looped 2 bungie cords for added support around holders, Added to my album in The Mary Ann.
P.S., next project will be window curtains, any easy solutions? _________________ DeanO |

DeanO - that is a great idea. I will probably have to steal it.

Nice work on the rod holders and windlass; that looks like it would be particularly useful when you want to leave the rods on the boat at the dock and have them secure. I am trying to figure out something similar to store my charts (still dont entirely trust electronics).
Keep posting to your picture album, I run out of Auke Bay mostly and your pictures are reminding me of home (I am overseas through next fall).
By the way, did you buy that new from Allen Marine? It looks like the one my wife and I were wishing for before we got our boat. I noticed it was gone when I left last summer.

Check out the simple curtain set up we have on our boat. Pics located in the "projects" sub-album. Quick and easy. Just sunbrella with snaps. We love them.

P.S., I did purchase my boat from Allen Marine last Spring, it was left over from the Year before. Thanks 416rigby. Real nice add ons. I received a boat stereo system for Christmas. Another project. Really liked the way you mounted your units. Thanks again. |
