This is a 3 part video of 50 min total, separated into parts of 10 min, 14 min and 26 min. This way if you wish, the video can be watched in smaller time segments at different times. Also it can be accessed by mac and non mac users. Mac users click on the links below where it says. FOR MACS.
This video is of scenes from our trip to Alaska and the Yukon River and Lakes in 2003. We trailered the boat for 5700 miles. Boat on the ocean for 507 miles, on lakes 545 miles and Yukon River 400 miles. Gone from home in Wyoming 28 days.
This was a very learn as we went event. We had only 8, one to two day outings on the water to prepare for this trip. No other boating experience other than canoe and 12.5 ft RIB. Doubt we could have accomplished this on any other boat than a c-dory. This video definitely shows its capability with amateur operators. Spent many pre trip planning hours reading all available information. Those of you that are in the position we were then have a major advantage now with the information available from THE C-BRATS.
Video 2003 Alaska-Yukon trip part 1--Tagish Lake, Yukon 10 min
Video 2003 Alaska Yukon trip part 2--Skagway to Auke Bay, Juneau 14 min
2003 Alaska-Yukon trip part 3--Auke Bay, Juneau to Yukon River 26 min
Hope you enjoy.

I enjoyed your videos so very much. Now I have to get out the Google Earth and get a better view of where you were.
I noticed you have a hookup on your front bow rail that you were using to tie up the boat.....you sure have more faith in that boy rail then I do.

Great vids. Very entertaining. That was cool when you guys were hauling a** down that river and she was giving on the fly navs at the end of the third vid. Strange, I've lived in Alaska my entire life and have never seen the Yukon. |

Jay-
Could you possibly set up the Ford's Terror Video on the same site as the Yukon one?
I can't see it with the Mac computer, but am dying to do so!
Loved your Yukon and other Alaska videos!
About died in the floor laughing when, after 170 miles up the Yukon, you got to Whitehorse and saddled up to the Shell station with the Wall Mart down the road!
Thanks for the adventure!

Mac videos:
Can't say how I did it, but by browsing around on the Mac Alaska link I did come across, and successfully view, the Fords Terror video on my Mac.

Ok. perhaps I have watched too many of thos Mac vs PC commercials on TV, but I cannot run the "windows" version of the video's. They are essentially a narrated slide show on both of my PC's. I can, however run the "Mac" versions of the three video's! They are great to watch! It's almost like being there. Thanks for the ride to Alaska! _________________

STOP!!!! we cant take much more of this. Susan is out in the dark and cold packing the boat now. The whale shots where just great. I have to hand it to you for running all the rivers. I had heard the yukon was a rafting only river, NOT!!. Did you have maps of the river with all the sand bars or just playing it as you go. We run the river here in my freinds sled and my drift boat but I would not take a prop boat up most of it. Really great video. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Actually did buy from Amazon an old paddlewheeler type chart written by a guy who canoes a lot on the Yukon River. It was a lot of help but you can't depend on any chart of a River like the Yukon because the sand and gravel bars change to much from year to year. Jo-lee would tell me what the chart said and I read the river. The combination worked well enough to keep us from any major mishaps. The owner of the little marina on Tagish Lake where we launched to explore that lake and where we stored the truck and boat trailer has been on most of the Yukon Territory rivers by jet boat. We told him of our plans to take the boat from Carmacks to Whitehorse and back. He told us we would never make it. Said we would loose our props and most likely our motor lower units or worse on sand and gravel bars. We have spent quite abit of time on different remote rivers on a RIB and can read a river fairly well. Anyway well enough to decide to chance it with the Hunkydory. The only reason those old timers could bring the paddlewheelers up to Whitehorse was the river was dredged during that period. Didn't see any other boats on the river anywhere near the size of ours.
Appreciate yours and the others comments.

Jay & Joylee,
Way to go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Incredible journey and adventure with memories that become wonderful treasures!!!! Amy really loved your whale fishing video.
Have driven Bozeman, MT to Alaska for 5 round trips over summers in the early 90's and enjoyed every single mile every time. Can't wait to do more boating trips like yours...very inspiring.
Thank you for sharing!
