After discovering there was a live cam aimed at the Retriever's winter slip, I wondered whether the topic had been covered on this board?
http://www.capecodlivecam.com/hyannisharbor.shtml

I did a search on "live cam" but didn't see many threads

While you can't actually see the "Retriever" - it's the third in as you walk down the finger pier shown in the live shot - it's kind of neat for me seeing who may be on the pier and what traffic is in the harbor.

On a less interesting note here's a link to the cam at my business:

http://www.aircapecod.com/cam.htm

So maybe there are some great cams out there on the left coast? or at the C-Dory factory?

Phil

I'll add one. This link takes you to various web cams in the San Juans and a couple at Anacortes. Enjoy.

This is where we hang out in Kihei, Maui.
Shores of Maui
The webcam is interactive in that you can scan up for more ocean or left to the BBQ and further left for the tennis courts.

Here's a couple of my favorite live cameras

The Bonneville Dam Fish Cam. I love watching this thing spring-late summer, especially when I can't go fishing or not too long before I plan on fishing the Columbia.

Washington Wildlife Cams. There's a number of different cameras looking at different species (seals, salmon, owls, heron..). Not all of the cameras are active in any one season and not all of the animals are active at any particular time but still cool.

The Mount Saint Helens Volcano Cam. This one can be fun to watch on those rare occasions where the weather is clear and there's some activity on (in?) the mountain. When I checked today, the forest service's web server was down for this one.

Phil,

These CAMS are great. Keep us all on our toes.

My mooring in Nantucket Harbor is on a CAM. Sorry I can not show it to you. It is a private CAM shown only to the Watchstanders at Brant Point Coast Guard Station. When my boat is moored, I always remind them about how they watch my boat. After all, it is an Auxiliary OPFAC.

As for your CAM that watches your boat, Knowing the area in Hyannis, Some of the people that hang around there are not exactly the best of America. With no locked gate, it might be smart to put up a sign that the dock is watched by a CAM. These people can read JIM BEAM, BUDWEISER, and THUNDERBIRD. They should be able to read the sign.

Fred

PS. To those of you who do not know where Phil's boat is docked. It is at the base of a public park, across the street from public housing with a million dollar view, and down the street from a rehab.

Spot on Fred

Due to an incident last summer, when midnight vandals sunk a Grady White cuddy by opening the valve on a wash down hose and putting it in the cockpit, I do believe there are plans to mount and aim a web cam at the marina slips from the South Street Maritime Museum.

(It helps move things along when the president of the town council and the town attorney keep boats at these slips!)

BTW: under the heading of what did you do on your CD today - I was out on Nantucket Sound - almost shirt sleeve weather and 1-2' chop - doesn't get much better. RU on island for the Stroll in a couple weeks?
