If you would go naked and stick to granola you could get better fuel economy. |

Boris,
The weights for Sea Skipper as listed above in an earlier post were obtained using the Oregon Dept. of Transportation truck scales on several different occasions and each time the trailer was disconnected from the truck to obtain the exact tongue weight. I'm very confident in the accuracy and the weights include all the items you mentioned in your post such as dingy, generator, etc. except people. Our in the water weights differ by 350#+/- which is pretty close, about a 5% difference. However my highway weight is higher and in the water weight less? _________________ Hank Brooks

Hank, sure there is a difference.
For the scale weight, the kicker O/B, inflatable and generator were in the truck. To lighten the load coming down from the Columbia, I drained the water, and siphoned the gas to use in the truck (I'm part Armenian.) These more than make up any difference. I used a certified scale also, everything was distributed differently. Your weight is the same as mine, and I was thrilled when you chimed in.
For the in-the-water weight, I added everything back on (including gas) and estimated Judy's and my weights (actually Judy's is the estimate, I unfortunately know mine.)
By the way the trailer Load capacity is 7500 lbs, and the GVW is 9000. With a trailer weight of ~2000 lbs, you don't want to overload the boat untill you get there.
