8. THE GRAND FINALE!!! Last summer, down on Lake Isabella , located in the high desert, an hour east of Bakersfield , CA , some folks, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get their brand new 22 foot boat, going. It was very sluggish in almost every maneuver, no matter how much power they applied. After about an hour of trying to make it go, they putted into a nearby marina, thinking someone
there may be able to tell them what was wrong. A thorough topside check revealed! everything in perfect working condition. The engine ran fine,! the&nbs p;out-drive went up and down, and the ropeller was the correct size and pitch. So, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water, he was laughing so hard.
NOW REMEMBER...THIS IS TRUE......Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer!
No one from Southern Calif. yet!
I'm thinking of a number between between 1 and 1920

Now why didn't I think of that. It sure streamlines the whole launching/retrieving process. _________________ Pete

There is always those pesky trailers to deal with. Some of us just forget that at the most inopportune time.
Several years ago I observed a boat towing his trailer going accross Katchamak Bay to Halibut Cove out of Homer. It was held up with about 8 red floats. No road access to Halibut Cove.
Last night I saw a new C-Ranger in the storage yard at AMD here in Anchorage. What a beauty that is. I will be there at opening bell in the morning. Will the price scare me off?? _________________ On the HIGH TIDE-II, wife Carolyn and I.....Another summer fishing on the HIGH TIDE II in the Cook Inlet at Cape Ninilchik, Alaska.

I've heard this story from several sources, so it must be true!
Now the only problem is to figure out whose C-Dory 22 that was with the wheels set up for shallow water operation!
I guess we have no other choice than to line up the usual suspects and give them the full interrogation treatment!
Who's first???
