Thanks to all for the kind invitations to join the Lake Roosevelt event. My wife and I both teach, and our friends are semi-retired, so the choice of dates, with only a few exceptions, would not be a big deal for us. I'll just keep reading the mail here and see what evolves as summer gets closer.

Thanks,

Greg

Cynthia tells me that she has two weeks off the first part of June and I'm lucky enough to take vacation anytime this year. Wow! This year is looking good. We will definitely have to think real hard about this one.

Hi Ken,we picked the early June dates because we were trying to get the trip in before the after school crowds show up. Should this be a concern? We have no other commitments for June. We are planning on cruising down to Dabob Bay ( Hood Canal ) leaving on July 1.

Man, with the J. Cove and Cathalamet stuff happening, I kind of forgot about this event. It's getting about time to start getting excited about Lake R.

WadeV, the dates selected are just fine, I think the bulk of the schools out crowd (students) heads towards the dam for their water sport fun. A few of the summer break folks (teachers) head towards more senic cruising waters at the upper end of the lake.

Jon-CLou, are you in? bring your smallmouth gear.. It's great fun to cruise for a while and stop for a bit and catch a few of those scrappers.

D & J, We're hoping to be in the water Thursday night at Seven Bays Marina. There a couple of variables that come into play however, the weather, aint hauling all the way up there if it's going to be a rainy, windy bugger and the water level. The folks running the dam sometimes spill out a bunch of water and can make launching tough (was going to go to the Snake this week but I see on the internet that the Brownlee reservour is drawn down makeing the launches moot) Lake R should be good to go in June however, but it bears keeping an eye on.

Digger and CAVU should be weighing in on this thread, where the heck are you's

We are planning on getting to Seven Bays either Wednesday the 2nd or Thursday the 3rd. Regardless we will meet you at Seven Bays Thursday afternoon. We will be monitoring channel 68--give us a call if we're not there when you get there. Haven't done any bass fishing since we left North Carolina--will definitely have some fishing gear with us.
Dean & Jeff, will these dates work out for you? We're planning on staying until Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week.
Ken, I agree if the weather forecast looks bad we'll have to reevaluate.
Will we see you all at Lopez Question Smile

Wade,

Sorry about the Jury call-up. Wonder if they will buy the line that your presence at Lake Roosevelt is "Mission Critical"? Used to work for us when it was time to get underway on the big ones.

As the weekend of June 5 approaches I'd like to get some more specific info about the gathering so we can plan to run into you all.

My wife and I are in charge of the graduation at our high school on Friday evening, the 4th, so will be leaving home early Saturday morning and heading toward Lake Roosevelt, picking up our friend Bob on the way. We plan to be in the vicinity by late morning to noon and am wondering how and where to meet up with some of you. We're still C-Dory-less and so are hoping to soak up as much info and atmosphere as we can. Where is the best place to be mid-day on the 5th so we can take advantage of your collective hospitality?

Greg

Ken, Kettle Falls on Saturday night sounds good to me. Should we plan a pot luck dinner? We're planning on driving to the lake on Wednesday & just cruising the lake on Thursday & Friday. Would it be best for us to launch at Seven Bays & spend the two days getting to Kettle Falls or should we launch at Kettle Falls & use it as our base? We would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks,

Do you guys know anything about Hunters Campground? I had it recommended by a friend. It's between the Spokane River and Kettle Falls. It's supposed to be a nice campground with a great boat launch that works at at all water levels. Not quite as far to drive as Kettle Falls, but then I guess when you've traveled that far, a few more miles doesn't really make a difference.
