See, Wade? Didn't I tell you? Huh? Huh? B~C likes it!

I thought maybe I should split this off to its own topic both to see how the Lake R planning develops and to preserve the integrity of the Lake P topic (nerd stuff - gotta do it).

I hope B~C doesn't get mad. I just moved his post - I wasn't jerking him around or nothin'.

So then, let's see if you all can talk old TyBoo into this one.

Mike, Great idea to pull out your magic nerd wand and break the lake R discussion out. Lake R is one our new favorite places and we plan on getting back there this year. We where going to try to go in early June before summer classes begin

How about you guys who are going to stay longer than a weekend settling the date and we will put it on the calendar of events for the weekend that falls in that period...

Bill Slow/Easy, Lake Roosevelt is a chunk of the Columbia interned by the Grand Coulee Dam, it's about a 100+ miles long and roughly located in the north east part of Washington.
see ya there?........it's an easy drive for you, all you have to do is head north on Hwy97, turn right on Wa SR2 then a left at Creston...piece O' cake Smile

OK it's time to get serious & pick a date for our trip to Lake Roosevelt. How about the weekend of June 5 & 6. Those of use not saddled with the need to work could get together a few days before or after or both. How's this sound Question

All right, Wade! Way to be decisive. We need more leaders around here. Laughing

I've added it to the calendar - easy to change the date if we need to.

Now...back to work on signup sheets...

A question of protocol, if I may. I'm in the drooling phase of C-Dory procurement and am wondering if it's OK to be part of the Lake Roosevelt get-together if one does not actually own a C-Dory. My good friend Bob, who lives in Colville, WA, and I would dearly love to see a real live C-Dory or two, not to mention be able to glean some info from owners face to face. We're leaning toward a used 22' Cruiser (families . . .) but would prefer to experience one up close and personal before we take the plunge. If we haven't succumbed and bought one by June 4-6 can we paddle along anyway?

Greg

For sure, no problem, you may get your ears chewed off. Me thinks most C-D owners are pretty proud of their boats and love to talk about them. A couple made the mistake of asking the spousal unit and I about our boat last summer at Sandpoint, an hour later the guy asked me if I was a C-D salesman.
I'm not certain we can make it to Lake R on those dates (we're going to try) but if we do, we'll launch at Seven Bays and you folks would be welcome to go for a spin

Sir, I respectfully suggest you note the name of the group before posing a question such as noted above. What does that word, "protocol", mean, anyhow?

By all means, attend any event you see us talking about on here. We have had many fine people show up, even unannounced, at our gatherings, and several of them are now happy CD owners, members here, and friends. I would go so far as to suggest that visiting with a bunch of CD CB's on the dock should be part of the decision process. Like has been said many times: You'll be getting more than just a boat when you buy a C-Dory.

Now there's a word we are familiar with. The CD 22 Cruiser is great for families, and kids of all ages. It is especially good for little guys, because they would have to jump to fall out. My oldest granddaughter (10 years old) would rather spend time with grandpa on the boat than just about anywhere.

And, hey, welcome to the group!

Hi Ken, Sorry to hear you might not be able to make Lake Roosevelt --would other dates be better? We were looking forward to you showing us the ropes having never been there before. I noticed that you launch at Seven Bays Marina. Do they have a secure place to park the truck & trailer?

Wade, I have a break from June 21 till the 28th...We could make the 5 & 6th but it would be a three day weekend with a bunch of driving.
Seven Bays has a nice marina & store with plenty of parking, it's located in a small retirement/summer home type mobile home community. There are some ramps closer to the Dam but that end of the lake isn't very scenic and caters more to the waterski boat set.
Bring your fishing gear, it's fun to cruise for a while and make short bass fishing breaks by the cliffs
