I am considering a bimini top for the back end of my CD-22. Can anyone give me feedback on designs and styles available and maybe some pics of what they had done and where. I just want the top and not the sides. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Chuck --

Scroll thru the photo albums here, on C-Dogs, and on the C-Dory factory site. Seems like more than half the folks have such a top, connected to the cabin top. I always think of a bimini as "free standing" with no connection to anything but the bows.

Hi Chuck, I just did a top and enclosure for the Minnie Swann. I found there were lots of things to consider. First for strength and durability I used 1" stainless steel with all stainless steel connectors and fittings. The rear hold down is stainless tubing too and not a strap. Unbelievable solidness and very little side to side slop. The attaching brackets are inside the gunnel so I can still step anywhere on the non skid when it is removed. The overall height is something for you to decide too. Make it for your own use, not resale. The distance it overhangs the back may may determine how high it can be. Too high is less shade and too low may interfere with fishing. Set your priorities. My enclosure is pictured in the C-Dog albums. Good luck, you will enjoy the new feature! Gary on Minnie Swann
