Here is some information for comparison I pulled out of manufacturer's spec sheets for Volvo Penta D3 engines and Yanmar engines.
I think real world results might be different, but, they still might be relative to each other in performance.
The real interesting things I found was the low RPM torque power advantage the volvo has. Also note that the Volvo 130 is projected to run more economically than the Yanmar 125 with more torque and power. Also the Yanmar 110 may not have the capability to match the Yanmar 125 which won't be offered after a while.
The speed performance data on the Yanmar 125 is from Hull # 4 they tested last week.

I was hoping to raise some discussion with the chart. I don't know if the Volvos will be offered, but they certainly are testing them to see if they will fit in the engine compartment. As you can see they are a little bigger.
If they are offered, for the first few boats out, this is the only source of information offering a comparison about potential performance to help make the choice of motors. Not much else to make an informed and deliberate decision on.
Therefore I sure would like others in an unbiased frame of mind to take a look at these numbers and offer some thoughts.
I am still thinking a fully loaded boat will be about 8000lbs, at least those are the numbers I am coming up with as I imagine all the options to add and things we would take on a cruise.
With the low end torque, it could be that the 190 with a larger prop could be the most effecient at the 3000rpm range for general cruising.

Too many questions yet to comment. Great chart.
When the "production" boats come down the line, more weight removed, and engine(s) finalized, we'll have some great discussion/decision points. In any case, it's a winner IMO. Weight is so important when on plane, and no boat will do it all. The C-Ranger sure looks close, because you can load it down and stay near hull speed with big range numbers, or lighten up a bit and go, go, go. And it has the best creature comfort I've seen in any boat near this size.
Catch fish? Hmmmmmm?
